We just enter the destination into our sat nav and let it figure that out for us (previous van was a 5.3t 8.4m tag axle and current van is a 7t 8,5m van); works for us.

That’s what we normally do, but the Mosel looks so pretty we thought we might try to drive alongside it. We usually check Goigke street view too.

Hi, the roads alongside the Mosel are perfect for motorhomes so nothing to worry about other than your wine consumption!!

Thanks, we did the Italian Lakes earlier this year and found some of the roads along the waters edge a little tight to the north, but still passable, so wanted to avoid the stress! Wine consumption sounds fun.

Few more tips above for us as we will be somewhere on the Mosel on our way back in a few weeks.
My slight concern is our van is 8mts + we have a trailer and car about 4.5 to5 mts so total about 13mts.
Any obvious sites NOT to approach.?

We sre thinking of going to the Mosel in about 4 weeks time. What is the road along the river like for motorhomes, or do you have to use the main roads and head in to a specific town on the river?

You will be fine the roads running alongside the Mosel are as good as A roads in the uk and not as busy

Currently at Reil, just spoke to the 'cash collector', he now takes tourist tax aswell from this year. €13.70 in total for one night, no electricity. Didn't realise it was so big, can take over 100 motorhomes!!

Lovely place we were there in 2018 and met up with some funsters who walked over to our site to say hello. I can't remember their names now though.
