Its been our pleasure having you as a travelling companion and the both of us managing to evade the dodgy weather and dodgy folk up and down Maroc. Now at La Linea and parting company tomorrow we are feeling melancholy. Will be heading off up the road north towards Seville tomorrow and hope to see you again either at Thetford or North Muskham in May. Enjoy Portugal and don't pig out too much on the pork. Lynda and I are now at Caceres in Spain. Slipped up on the €16 ACSI rate though because its Easter. The place is pretty full with Spanish with a couple of obligatory English shed draggers and a similar Dutch number. Rate is €26 which equates to about £19 odd. For that there is lekkie included, your own shower toilet and washbasin in a little shed adjacent to the pitch, free site wide wifi and a restaurant bar should you require them. Weather is lovely hot and sunny, in contrast to the chilly Gibraltar we left behind this morning.
Will be giving the lekkie and hot water some stick tomorrow when we do about 3 weeks washing.

Ken..
Alain Giletti arrived on site here in Chefchaouen yesterday.. His female companion has left due to injuring her back? He went to Tangier med but they would not swap his ticket over, it is a fixed date jobby so he has to wait till 28th in Morocco, " I can think of worse places to be" He asked about the Merzouga3 (y)
Give the leccie some whelly mate:LOL:

We really liked Caceres stopped off there both going down and coming back but didn't realise there was a camp site there we used the aire

First time we went through we couldn't find the aire and the streets were getting narrower. Caceres Camping is at the north end of the town a couple of miles out and next to a small football stadium. Its normally ACSI reduced rate but because its Easter its pretty full.

A little video of the best thing we have done so far in Morocco. Spending 3 days in the Sahara. The highlight, laying on a mattress watching shooting stars cross the desert sky.

We are now in Gelves, Making our way to Portugal, Came over on Monday "late"
Monday night Lidl Tues Gibralter blowing a hoolie left this morning arrived 30mins ago!
Would like to thank all the great funster's we met while in Morocco. Hope to catch up with those still on the road somewhere along the line.

Just arrived at Le Crotoy on the Somme. We were dead lucky as a van was just pulling out so we nipped in sharpish. We'd heard it had been busy over Easter but looking at the number of vans here, there has been no respite. Predominantly French and Belgians with a small number parking like numpties at 45* thus knocking a few possible spaces off for others. Cela ne fait rien though cos we are piched up ta very much.

Well oohdaa thought it. Sat watching (cringing) Britains Got Talent here at Le Crotoy, when I notice a bloke out of my eye corner staring through the windscreen. Its none other than the man himself Terry (TerryL) the main man who did all the legwork and prep for this years fantastic trip to Maroc. We haven't seen him and his good lady Brenda since Tagazhoute which seems like light years since. Hoping to team up tomorrow to chew the fat and compare tales. Top man Terry (y)(y)(y)

PS Its busting at the seams here and they are still turning up.

Just taken Jess for a walk and it suddenly struck me that Le Crotoy this morning actually resembles that other well known Ethiopian Refugee Camp aka Tagazhoute, albeit the vans are a bit more uniformly parked and the weather is a damn site colder. There must be upwards of 130 vans here at €6 a night, its a tidy income for the town, the Aires book says max spaces is 70. Even the bread man has just gone past tooting his horn. We only need you know who drive in and I would pee myself with laughter.:rofl::rofl:

Sitting here at the Peterborough show, our last bit of the trip before home, reflecting on our adventures over the last few months. As the idiot who put his head above the parapet to get it going, I can only say how pleased we, Brenda and I, are that it was so successful with very few "incidents" and everybody (well perhaps almost everybody!) enjoyed themselves so much.

Thanks for your thoughts and thanks, not necessary because you all made it for us too. See you all around.

You worked very hard for us all Terry. We send our gratitude to you once again. Our couple of weeks at Tagazoute was especailly brillient.
It was lovely to see you, Brenda, Colin and Tina at Peterborough too. good weekend.

Hello
Not sure if I'm allowed to revive this but I'm in Moulay Bousselham in my 71 VW Camper with my girlfriend. We've been in Morocco since Monday, our first time in the country. We've been on the road for over a month, from Manchester to France, Spain and then thought sod it lets go to Morocco so we did.
Vastly unprepared but enjoying it immensely at the minute.
So just wanted to say hello and any recommendations?
Also is it still worth/cheaper getting solar panels done here. In my sheer disregard for planning I didn't bring a France adapter for hooking up so theres that.
Going out on a boat later, still getting used to everyone approaching us and we stick out with our classic camper.
So hello and Ramadan Mubarak!

Meknes, Essouria, tagazoute, tifnite, tafroute, just read this thread you will soon figure it out:) check out the 'guardian' sites although the one at tagazoute is still shut I think there are still plenty of places to stop on the coast, have a great time.

Hi Welcome, the best advice I would say is read as much of this thread as you can lots of information available, yes regarding the solar panels in fact any jobs always cheaper I. Morocco and worth doing. Buy your SIM cards from Moroc Telecom you will get a reliable internet with it.

If you don't get enough info start. Thread 'Help in Morocco now'. enjoy it's a wonderful country , don't forget they do expect you to barter. Gaurdian areas are usually cheaper than the sites.

Thank you both. We've got a SIM card which has thankfully helped us as our map is somewhat difficult to decipher.
We will be heading down the Coast tomorrow and I'll make note of the places listed above and start reading through this thread.

Is there anywhere we need to avoid? Also how have people been doing regarding the food here? We went to the market yesterday and the flies/general lack of cleanliness was interesting. I mean a meal is a meal for us so we had some fish and a mint tea, quite a bit different to that of the UK and Europe, also the lack of regard for health and safety is somewhat refreshing!

Download maps.me it's free and will get you everywhere in Morocco, works well on a phone and iPad or if you want to spend £34 Tomtom Morocco on your iPad is good too. As for food, fresh fish, meat, poultry, veg, is in abundance everywhere, so long as you cook it you should be fine, it's so fresh in the market they have to kill the chicken for you!

Invest in a Morrcan gas canister and burner really cheap, refills only about a £1 get a tagine about £4 size 6 from all the markets and small steel windbreak for around it, then that's your cooking sorted all the food you want can be bought fresh at the many markets you will come across just buy what you need , most Moroccans don't have fridges so everything is bought as needed, buy bottled water and their bread is really good, you will soon get into it, if you.come across any British Motorhomers (though it's a bit hot now for most ) knock on there door I'm sure they'll have lots of information to share. Hope you are having a great time.
