Money grabbing GPs

That is simply not true , vets cannot prescribe for humans .
In exceptional circumstances a vet can prescribe human medicines for animals .
Why would anyone believe that a vet could prescribe for a human being ?
P.S I was an NMP ( now retired ) and my wife is a MRCP .

Whoa! Don't shoot the messenger.

P'raps the rules are different for those of you still in the E.C. ;)

I used to cost me £75 some ears ago for a MSA medical form to be completed by a doctor for an International Rally Drivers licence and £65 for an eye test because I wear specs. This was every year until I reached 40. Then I had to go for a treadmill lung test. I packed up at that point.

Thanks. That'll be really useful to know if I become unwell as my dog can always get a same-day appointment at the vet. (Hopefully I wouldn't have get down on all fours for him/her).
Hope you would not need your temperature checked

You can get a shotgun licence if you’ve been treated for depression. Obviously depression is a term used to cover so many degrees of mental illness or mental wellbeing.

Thanks for the reply.

It was something that crossed my mind as some people think those that have/had depression or a mental illness can be of danger to others.

My Mercedes garage charges £174 per hour.

Just thought would put that up there as a comparison.
And haven't I read that on some Mercedes there's no release lever provided to enable an owner to open the bonnet to check the oil etc?

Think they are getting close to that 😳😳

I open mine to top up the screen wash bottle and with the rest just shake my head and quickly close it again. 😂😂😂

That’s why

1 I don’t own a newer Merc.

2 I do as much work on my vehicles as I can.
Lol if only I was that gifted with mechanics.

And let’s face it lads, I’m in the north east where we are just poor northerners 😳😳

😂😂

I used to have an Audi A2. No access to the bonnet, all you could do Was drop down the number plate and check the screen wash and oil.

Yep they don’t want us mixing oil with water even

Fortunately or unfortunately when I was young and a poorly paid apprentice I had no option but to get oil under the fingernails.

Plus I had to run older cars as couldn’t afford things that didn’t need work doing on them 😊

Brakes, clutches, engine rebuilds etc all part of my weekends 😊

We are flying back to Spain to continue our journey with the MH, June has to take injection needles with her, to do this she has to have a letter from her GP to go through customs.
I phoned our surgery to request said letter,
Confusion then set in but eventually they rang back to say they would but its only for the one journey and they charge £20 for doing it, I questioned this, explaining we are only hard up pensioners but it made no difference, they insisted on taking the money
If you haven't got the letter already, it might be possible to buy the syringes in Spain at a pharmacy or buy them via Amazon.... Will they be required on your journey to your motorhome?

My dad (as a vet) occasionally prescribed human medication...
Those medicines were labelled "For animal use only" by the pharmacist.

Humans are of course animals.

Our local vet used to look after our rugby injuries in the pub on a Sunday lunchtime. He said that sports injuries are similar to that of horses. We always got better for the following week.
What made you better ? The beer, the advice or ghe magic sponge ...

I have only the use of one hand which was bitten and torn very badly when I tried to deter an aggressive large dog off-lead that had started attacking my on-the-lead Westie in the village park. It was bleeding profusely and I couldn't do anything about it as it was my only useable hand. I had a 20 minute walk home and live on my own so I popped into my local health centre which was only 400 yds away, dripping blood, but none of the 5 doctors and 3 nurses was 'available'.
On the way home I had to pass the vets surgery where I take my dog and the nurse there washed it, put on steri-strips and a bandage and said to go to A&E as I might need an anti-tetanus jab and anti-biotics. I only had to wait a short while at A&E and the nurse couldn't stop giggling as she removed my bandage, printed with cartoon silhouettes of cats and dogs.

Has Portland seen the error of his ways can't see any response from him/her.
Gone out for a whip round maybe!

In Spain licensed pharmacists may sell hypodermic needles and syringes to adults aged 18 and older without a prescription.
I needed to refill the damping fluid after dismantling my boat compass and got a funny look from the phamacist when I asked for some pure alcohol and a hyperdeemic nerdle.

I'm not surprised you got a funny look. :xrofl:
Same as I did from the crew when approaching Cherbourg harbour and I told the crew to key their eyes peeled in case a cross flannel cherry was coming out.
