Misterton meet 11th May - 13th May

ShiftZZ - pub in village under new management, and were going to serve meals again, the local chippie is excellent and there is a pizza/kabab place. Along the road is a large Co-op and a local butchers p.s. Hilldwellers favourite shop.

Sheila xxx & Mick

Please note: The chippie isn't open on Saturday evenings. As well as the pizza place there's also a very good chinese take away just a bit further on past the Co-op.

The pub the other way (away from the village about 10 - 15 mins walk does excellent food at good prices). Haxey Gate Inn.

Brians Slughterhouse..

You won't when you pay, but when you start chewing it's a different matter. Just the best ribeye I've ever eaten. Cooked to perfection as only a male BBQer can do.

I'd forgotten that Sheila. White House Farm shares post code with the Haxey Quays CS and Haxey Gate Inn, both of which are a little further north.

White House Farm site is just on the outskirts of the village - see attached photo.

Hi all,

Latest update on the field at Misterton it is fine, they had loads of campers this last weekend and didnt have any problems apart for some dipstick who had 2 fan heaters running all day 1 for him & his wife in the awning and 1 for the kids in popup tent, result blew the main fuse on the campsite and in the house. They didnt use the heating in the caravan as they didnt know if it worked (it is an old caravan).

I have asked Phil if we can have the use of the marquee and it will be erected hopefully on Thursday, but we will need help to take it down on Sunday as Lee will be the only family member there. Phils charity is the Air ambulance so we will make a donation to that as he is not charging us for the use of Marquee.

Weather forecast looks promising for weekend so bring it on folks and lets have FUN. :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Sheila xx

Hi Ken,

Now we have marquee that should not be necessary  but thanks anyway see you there xx

Sheila

Im sure Ralph will help take the marquee down as long as its the Sunday morning .
Its looking good weather wise too

As for the numpty with the 3 fan heaters running all bank holiday , that would have cost a fortune in electric. :Eek!:
Another good reason for sites to charge each unit by the electric they use IMO.
You use it you pay for it. Dont , and it will make the standard pitch cheaper.

Hi Sheila,

How are you fixed for heating and lighting for the Marquee ?

I have a small space heater and outdoor lighting if required.

I will bring my coloured strip lights anyway.

Thanks.....Ralph

Hi Ralph & Bev,

Mick says that would be fantastic if it is no bother,

Regarding the Red Hart pub in the village it is NOT yet serving meals, but the White Hart in Westockwith and The Gate Inn at Haxey down the from the site is.

Thanks all xx

Hi Sheila, as you know we are coming thursday evening, so can help to put it up also. Should be there approx 7ish, I notice on your earlier post you no longer need our gazebos, but we will bring with us a table top patio heater that runs on gas. won't heat the full marquee, but as they say every little helps!

see you soon
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for that every little helps (as the old lady said when she peed in the sea) :Rofl1::Rofl1:

To all you funsters who havent been to a meet, and to those who havent yet paid their subs, this is what the FUNSTERS do best, rally round the marshalls in their time of need to make rallies what they should be FUN :thanks2:

Sheila does Mick want him to bring the gas space heater , outdoor lighting and coloured strip lights ? Or just the space heater.
He will bring what ever you want if your going to use it.
Just so he knows what to take over to the motorhome tomorrow. ( We keep it in storage, take everything over in the car for weekend trips )

Hi Bev,

Space heater would be good, could we use the outside lights inside the marquee xx

Sheila

Yes , we got them for a rally we did ( Pickering Xmas lights ). We just need to plug them in somewhere .
