Mission completed - New Motorhome received and Weight Upgrade completed to plan!

I have had 9yrs experience of my routine and just sold a stunning van that had done just that, I did mention in another post I gave it a run round the village, also the dehumidifier was of paramount importance, my interior was dry and immaculate, but obviously there are some who know better. I have posted my MOT’s showing my mileage so when it comes to having low use of a motorhome and it being so well looked after maybe I did do things right.
Your old motorhome, if it was a 2.8 jtd didn't have erg or dpf to clog up through lack of use.
I'd give your new van a weekly blast (y)

Good point I have heard horror stories about school run vehicles that get clogged, I think its more short runs rather than sitting there, maybe I will need to attend some MF Rallys to give it a workout (y)

As I said a little knowledge is dangerous, take reviews with a pinch of salt and use your own skills if you have them to work out if a person or company is reliable.

I would give Lowdhams 5 stars out of 5 for EVERYTHING, I must say that your salesman or woman is KEY, find one you can work with and who has the same standards as you, I struck gold with mine, he answered 97 emails almost immediately or within an hour, it sounds a lot but if you really are interested in getting the van you want then you need to ask questions and get answers especially if you aren’t near or not see what your buying.

I have been open on this forum from the start, you have seen the end result of my research and the extras I had fitted, better to get the dealer do it as you have some comeback if it goes wrong, no good a week later wishing you had a solar panel, outside shower/BBQ point/ 240v outlet, tow bar, bike rack (ok you could fit that yourself on the new modern vans with the Pre fixed brackets), extra leisure battery, extra USB points, lights in your garage, Sat Nav, rear view cameras, leather steering wheel, TV aerial and power points and aerial points, gaslow system (and choose filler point location), upgraded tyres, cruise control, air con, auto bathroom light or right size engine for your needs etc etc.

I am one over the moon customer that has been delivered EXACTLY what I wanted but it doesn’t do it Itself it takes interaction and communication ?
I hope you and your 97 emails ? will continue to be over the moon, I truly do. However, our experience with Swift and Lowdhams fell well below a reasonable standard. Let us know how it goes.

Well thousands do, I think you have to look at YOU and work out why? I am a fussy person and got exactly what I wanted, I saw German vans, I spent 2 days at the Dusseldorf show, what you have to remember is the chassis and engines are the same, the fittings are mostly the same e.g. Dometic, Truma, Omnistore e.t.c. all you are paying thousand extra for is a different box it is all put in, really simple when you look at it that way. I read horror stories about people waiting months for German parts, I met a guy at Lowdhams who changed from a German brand for that very reason, its horses for courses do as you deem fit.

Don't get me wrong, although Lowdhams are superb I am less than impressed with Swift and the finish on my van they gave to Lowdhams, why should Lowdhams have to rectify their sloppy work. Anyway I had a budget and stuck to it, we only use a few weeks a year so its there for one job and that's it (y)

If you are happy that's the important thing, but don't slag off all of the UK market because yours went wrong, its good to buy British and support our country ;)

Yes as I said it pains me to say it, as it is good to buy British. However, my views are based not just on one motorhome that went wrong and our terrible after sales service, so I will ignore your advice. ?

Just remember what I said in my other post, a little knowledge is dangerous, just because someone types it in a post DOES NOT mean it is correct, ALWAYS double and triple check things unless you have total faith in someone. It is plainly clear to me there are some keyboard experts about with little or no real experience of the subject they are preaching about, they just regurgitate rubbish some other similar person has written elsewhere on the internet, ALWAYS do your OWN research as well, if they know what they are talking about they will back it up with REAL fact and REAL experience otherwise beware, don't be afraid to ask them (y)
You are a laugh..really entertaining..BUSBY.

Well I had one for 9yrs so must have got it right then, only changed due to the emissions nonsense law or would have kept it, now bought another perfect one. If you are changing yours so often I think you need to look carefully and work out why you are not getting it right otherwise you wouldn’t need to change.

I’m happy to invest in Britain and keep people at dealerships employed, Lowdhams works hard at what they do, some things are out of their control, they employ a lot of people in the local community, I’m happy to support British workers ?

it’s a shame so many people don’t support businesses in Britain but I can understand why, if it wasn’t for Lowdhams I would have told Swift to F off ?

I’m retired so have all the time in the world, that’s why I am happy to help others if I can, I’m also learning so much from this forum and the search facility, I personally think the membership fee is too low, it needs to be increased, it’s a fantastic knowledge source, I hope a little of what I do know and my experiences can also be shared ?

I’m struggling to know what you’re on about. We have a Laika that is superb in every way. It’s really well built and designed. We could not be happier!

From one of your other threads:

I have to laugh at some of the responses here, clearly a little knowledge is dangerous ?
So tell us where we went wrong, oh master ............ so that we can reach your level of knowledge.
And I pity the people who think they have nothing to learn. Of course those who really do have nothing to learn might help the misguided by explaining to them why their opinions and experiences are so laughable.

I don’t believe you took up the above challenges. Good to see that you are now willing:

We await with baited breath.

Sorry I was just going on what you said which seems to indicate you keep getting motorhomes with problems, once maybe, but twice or three times, maybe its the owner ;)

I will continue to wear my union jack on the back of my motorhome with pride knowing I am patriotic (y)

I don’t understand why you, and others, would be wound up by 596’s posts.

Personally, if I got the flack he gets I wouldn’t want to be a member of this forum.
