I had orange dayglo stickers on mine when exiting the port at ROSCOFF a gendarme questioned them - he said they normally indicate a vehicle is carrying weapons! The 'new' MirrorGuards have 'silver circle' reflectors with their name on them fitted. I tried to remove them not realising their purpose but was advised by MirrorGuuard that they were there for a purpose! To stop people placing forward facing Orange Day Glow strips etc., on them which is apparently illegal.
Yes orange is only for side markings with red for rear facing markings & white only should face forwardTo stop people placing forward facing Orange Day Glow strips etc., on them which is apparently illegal.
They save the mirror but the door gets ripped offView attachment 873551

I have used Mirror Guards on all my vehicles over 15 years. The same pair. 2 years ago had an argument with a lorry resulting in the mirror coming onto door and the Mirror guard went flying. Picked it up and apart from road scratches and a large crack it went back on. Had to do the old trick with abs cracks and small hole at end, filled with body filler and it is still on van today. Our Mirrorguards have come off best in the few mirrors jousting matches we have with oncoming vehicles.
Not had to replace a mirror glass yet, and with just a rub over with a spot of T- cut and they are as good as new again.
I stuck a square of reflective tape on ours so vehicle coming the other way at night get a better idea of where our wing mirrors are.
Make sure you get the ones that are lined like a motor bike helmet, they provide much better protection when colliding with something. Stay away from the thin one-layered ones.Hi want to get some mirror protectors which are best? burstner fiat Ducato also van is white mirrors are black do i go white same as van or black as they are?
Is it illegal in Europe or just a British rule? The 'new' MirrorGuards have 'silver circle' reflectors with their name on them fitted. Ditto+1 on the Mirrorgaurds,iv had the cheaper ones and they fade, and are just not strong enough.
It may be that it is illegal to show anything other than a white light to the front (excepting hazard / indicators)Is it illegal in Europe or just a British rule?
Portugal has very different road rules to UK
In France you don't see many 'Camping Cars' fitted with Mirror Protecters, Milenco are the only ones available here. I don't think I have ever seen anybody put reflectors on their mirrors so would think it is illegal here. Basically, even fitting the Mirror Protectors could be considered illegal as they are not an original factory fitted accessory. Is it illegal in Europe or just a British rule?
