Nice a fair bit of kit you can use!

Any idea of layout?

Cheers James

I'm definitely going to ask advice on Layout - initially my idea was compact kitchen pod RHS front, one of those toilet washroom trays that utilise the wheel arch space on LHS at the rear with a Tambour sliding door which makes the width of the toilet room less than a metre and I believe just enough room to make a longitudinal bed set up on RHS rear. I will do a new separate post asked for advice on this

That sounds good saves putting the cassette toilet through the side of the van.

You could probably put a second row of seats In front of the toilet door.

Keeping it simple has alot to recommend.

Get some lining wall paper and draw it 1/4 size.

Or if you have a drive draw it out full scale using chalk.

I chose a Mk8 Transit 17 seater, almost by accident. But I couldn't be happier with it. 155bhp. Suits my requirements fine. Now down plated to 3500 and registered as 4-set PLG van with windows. I retained one twin-seat (with isofix) because I wanted four seatbelts (for day runs) and just two beds and a toilet. Admittedly, I'm currently sitting just on the 3500 limit, but I'm not concerned because I don't need any further payload. And I'm also very happy with the Mk8 driving experience. It was completely stripped and insulated. And the big benefit of a clean minibus is the OEM trim.

This is my one...

Just my wife and I. Fixed single across the back. Easily convertible single in front. At our age you need easy access to the toilet at night....
Our 35 year old daughter travelled with us earlier this week - airbed on the floor, worked fine!

James, re your rear bed (like mine), I removed the plastic trim which houses the aircon ducting and got significantly more leg room. Mine was a base model and didn't have aircon in it, but yours has and I believe you want to keep it.

Yes I left the trunking in place.

Is that the empty box at the bottom passenger side by the rear doors.

I didn't want to mess around with the interior trim too much. I often carry timber plywood etc for a local men's shed charity so I like the hard wearing nature of the trim.

I hardly ever sleep in it just when I got to see my elderly parents when it's just me or possibly one of the kids comes too. So bed space isn't the highest priority.

Yes, on the Transit "Trend" model there's an aircon fan unit in that plastic box at floor level. I removed it to give room for my diesel heater. And, although I didn't like to get rid of the nice plastic trim at bed level, it had to go in order to get extra bed length. I covered the overhead hole in the roof trim with white hardboard. And covered the metal pillar with carpet.
