Midsummer MotorhomeShow

As we are newbies, we are parking with friends who are not members (yet) so as we wont be parking with the funsters am I correct we don't need to fill the form in?

We are still looking for camping tickets for couple, willing to pay face value etc.

We will come over and see you guys sometime over the weekend.(y)

You are most welcome to come and see us and bring along your friends as they might be interesting joining us.
You do not need to fill out the form but if you need name badges and stickers send a message to Jim ringleader and he will have them at the tea tent on our site you will also be welcome to free coffee and tea

Having not been to Stoneleigh before, is there somewhere we can park up on the way in, to wait for other to arrive please?
Google Maps shows this area on the left at the entrance, but not sure if it would be accessible on the day.

We were originally scheduled to arrive on Thursday but as we are having to self-isolate until Midnight on Thursday we will now arrive on Friday about lunchtime barring any symptoms arriving in the meantime!
 
I ams wearing on new Turbo and intercooler fitting being completed by end of Thursday - they started work on it Tuesday afternoon but no promises (had to wait two weeks for parts from Italy :confused:)

Right now the possibilities are:
  1. All fixed by end of tomorrow and I will arrive Friday lunchtime
  2. All fixed by Friday and I will arrive late Friday or Saturday morning
  3. Not fixed and I am not arriving.
Already missed Peterborough - bummer.

Not having great confidence so far. North east truck and Van who are the local IVECO dealer - first of all had to wait for parts, then they had someone off sick, then it was, sorry, we only have one person in the workshop' - how can you b a main dealer with all those trucks and vans and have just ONE person in the workshop?

I think all fingers and toes crossed!

Is this a repair or an upgrade ?

We had a bad experience with north east van and truck could not even change the fuel filter on our A-Class even though they had it nearly 3 days then left the oil filler cap off never going back. Good luck may see you at stoneleigh .

Last night was told they had got the old turbo and intercooler out, waiting for some gaskets today before refitting new turbo etc - not promising I will get it back today but fingers crossed.

Thanks for the confidence boost!!! :giggle:

On my last A class they couldn't get it up on their somewhat pathetic ramps! That must have changed I guess. Apparently they had to remove and degas all the air conditioning in order to get to the turbo etc - wouldn't need to do that on a truck but because it is in an A class with difficult access. AC guy being told to come at 2pm to Regas the system.
 
And - just had a call - they need a gasket they hadn't ordered - none in stock anywhere in the UK - has o come to france will take three days.

So, in short, if anyone would like tickets to the show I have some PM me as I will not be there.

They have had the van 4 weeks - didn't look at it because of staff shortages and now this - I am mightily p***ed off!

Paid for appletree in Shrewsbury only just checked and could not find tickets in email well **it happens mixed events up

Just hinted round the web to see if I could get one - only in Germany or Holland on 3 to 5 days delivery. This is the third weekend spoiled and to add insult to injury I can also tell you that the cost of the part that is preventing me going away is €2.62 !!!!
 
That's the problem no skilled mechanics anymore, just part changers. Days gone by they would have made their own gasket.(y)

It may be the same as a Fiat part As the engine is almost the same

I've got 2 pairs of old bread crates if anyone wants them before they go in the bin . (y)

Going Saturday just for the day looking to buy electric bike are there any traders selling them please
 
I think there were 3 traders but kept getting distracted by rum gin and Cider tasting. Not cheap though the ebikes. One company was letting someone test one on the roadway.

Oh the trader area is not that big.
