Hi All

Daft question: - should the exhaust exit be past the bodywork or is it acceptable to finish under the chassis?

Just had a new one fitted and it doesn’t pass the body work (the previous one did). Hence the question

TIA

Darren

That's interesting. Mine is RHD and exits in a similar manner but on the offside. From your pic, your mates would appear to be on the left side.

Perhaps we could go for twin vertical chromed pipes just behind the cab like our colonial cousins.

I think that only applies to panel vans with PR number K4A after 11/09/2017 others have the normal large rear silencer at the very rear right corner.

As far as I can see the VW Crafter and MAN TGE all exit under the centre of the vehicle so i assume does the Grand California.

I do not know the legalities or MOT requirements. BUT.

I would not want the exhaust existing under the habitation area. Especially, but not just due to gas drop vents etc.

Neither would I but it must be remembered that most of the time when fumes are being expelled, the vehicle is moving and air is moving under the vehicle, even when stopped.

This is timely. We lost the end of our exhaust in Portugal earlier this year so needed it sorted locally. They fitted a new part that finishes underneath and with the end pointing down as others have noted here. We were reassured though as by coincidence another Rensult Master was on site and looked pretty much the same. Having now driven about 2000 miles since, it appears ok.
Interestingly, it previously terminated just in front of the hab door which I was never happy about so I think it's now better. Next year's MoT should be interesting....

Yep, left side, it's a Euro 6c, twin EGR no AdBlue.
