The system is different now

Yes you can pay to effectively upgrade and update the system

Would it be better if they said "sorry that system is obsolete now?

Or do you expect free upgrades even after equipment was installed over eight years ago?

To be honest Eddie, I'd expect software upgrades on any system for as long as they were able to upgrade them.

I'd also expect those software upgrades to be 'free', with the known cost included in original purchase fee, or, to have an annual licence fee, which you stop charging once you are are unable to update further.

Metatrac already charge a fee to keep their service running, I'd expect that to include the software updates, as it's in their own interest as much as the punters interest to only have one version of their software out in the wild.

If they have multiple versions out there, with known bugs and faults, the are liable to lower their reputation as well as creating extra work for themselves.

The software updates are ongoing and Free of charge

The over ride fob was an optional extra available at the time

It is now a Bluetooth override I believe but I'm retired so don't have to deal with customers expectations reasonable or unreasonable

I've said many times discussing old electronic devices and how they work and what's included compared to 2025 equipment is confusing
