Eventually succumbed to the requests to upgrade from my original MetaTrak app. It’s actually a completely new app, in tasteful pink rather than the old blue. It’s also completely different layout. Setting up was easy as it carried over from the old app, then it took me through a demo, trouble was I couldn’t get out of demo mode. So a call to MetaTrak. Interesting that the number came up before I’d even part way dialed so the app must have an idiot sensor. A nice, and patient, lady talked me through various stages and found the commands ( now called modes ). There’s a lot fewer of them now, Privacy, Service, Transport and Immobiliser in my case. Tap the appropriate one and it turns blue to indicate it’s on, in the manual ( which I belatedly downloaded, only 37 pages ) it says red but presumably that got a bit lost in translation. The main page has icons for 21 functions. It can even tell you if you’ve had a crash.

So questions:
At what stage would you recommend deleting the original app?
I suppose the new app can be on two phones
Has anyone else upgraded, if so are there any helpful tips ?

Thanks

Unless the battery was missing from the start and the fob has never worked I can assure you there will be ;)
Thanks Ash, you guys fitted it in March 2020,
I've only used it once in about 2022.

I'll try it out and see if it still works!
Otherwise I'll be dropping in next time I head west!

Anyone else had the timestamp issue? My version is v1.2.7 (469)
I don't see a time stamp on the battery voltage. I don't use that function though and it doesn't appear very accurate.
The MataTrak app shows the engine battery currently at 12.2V. Victron battery sense says 12.84V which is accurate.

I agree and would be surprised if the voltage was particularly accurate and it is only a point in time reading anyway (twice per 24 hours I think). Unfortunately for me that is the only monitoring I have presently.

I'm still using the older app. The newer one has face recognition which is nice, but is missing (as far as I can tell) some crucial features such as 'System Restart' which I find I have to use every few months to get things synchronised again.

You may find that the battery may have run out. The ID tags continuously talk to the equipment so we typically advise everyone to replace the batteries every year. Don't use Duracell batteries as these have a coating around them. Any other batteries will be fine. I usually buy my batteries from Amazon (basic range) as they don't cost an arm and a leg like some well know brands do.
The alarm fobs are different and these can last up to 3 years if the button is pressed 3 times a day!

I purchased my 2016 van with alarm and Non Starter MT late last year so late to the party. I registered with Vanbitz (thanks AshVanBitz ) and with MetaTrac. I downloaded the MetaTrac Plus app and it must have been a special ‘Santa’ version as the icon had a Santa hat on ! I didn’t note the app version at that time though. I recently took the apple MetaTrac update which removed the hat but also removed the timestamp from the battery voltage ☹️.
As it happens I spoke with MetaTrac yesterday about something else and so used the opportunity to ask about the missing timestamp. They are aware of it and hope to have it fixed in the next release which should be in the next month or so apparently. Anyone else had the timestamp issue? My version is v1.2.7 (469).
Same version. Lost the timestamp at the battery icon, still there on the vehicle page (press speedo button), but reading stuck at 03:44 24.01.25.

The manual I Googed online is Italian and English and certainly doesn't match up to the app :-(

Thanks.

Some inconsistency there then too as date stamp has dissapeared from both locations for me.

I am not a fan of the voltage reading to be honest. Most of time it doesn't provide a accurate reading so I advise most customer to take it with a pinch of salt.
