Ah well the rain stopped at 10am so i managed to get that section filled and sanded and in to primer. Theres still a few imperfections in the filler but as it will be raptor painted anyway which is very forgiving im not too concerned with it just now ....

What rain in Scotland, how unusual.
First we've had in nearly a month ....its been average 25° here the last 2-3 weeks ... supposed to be 4 days of rain but it rained for about 90 minutes this morning and thats been it so far .

Seems to be hitting lots of areas around us though .

Stratford last week 31° all week, a bit cooler over the weekend.
At Foy now had heavy showers today & freezing 18°. Sun's out now.

Bit more progress .... Had to clean up all the brake caliper , hub ,steering box etc too while i have the wheels off. Want to get the front rebuilt now so i can get the front wheels on and the van turned around . Looking a lot cleaner

You've certainly got patience and dogged determination Tam. I am sure you will have a vehicle to be proud of when you are done.😁 (even though Mum might have forgotten what her drive looks like)!

Hmm! I don 't dislike the colour, but wouldn't't be too sure about a black roof.
Won't that absorb too much heat?
It might lead to two very hot little doggies when stationary.

Not when there's a full length roofrack on there with a sundeck ....it will keep the heat off the roof and create an airflow . That and 50mm thick insulation should keep it pretty cool. Im also installing a maxair fan which will help .it should be cooler in summer and warmer in winter than my current van.

I might have known you would have it all sussed lol! 🤣
Something like this

Are you going to have it resprayed when you've finished? or perhaps the camouflage look which, on reflection is perhaps not the best of ideas given the way you travel.;)

Yes it will be painted... but i might do it myself ...will see how the roof and lower panels turn out as i hope to have them done before i head off for the winter

I guess weight is not a problem! You really will be spoiling yourself.
Have you got a lift planned for the pups to get to tbe sun deck?
Back in the 60's (you may have heard your Mum speak of those times). The posh "big houses often had a 'hatch' type cubby hole in a dining room wall where food or crockery could be transported between floors and thereby kept hot.
I.e. between the kitchen below stairs and tbe diing room on tbe floor above. Back then, I believe these things worked on a pulley system.
I am sure with tbe wonders of modern science, you could rig up something similar to transport Jade and Milo up and down to the sun deck.😁
It could also be used to carry ice and bottles of wine/beer.

The old song by The New Christy Minstrels comes to mind when you mention having it ready before winter. ;)
