Mercedes based vehicles

The ACC feature sound great - how do I find out if I've got it ?

It is called Distronic at Mercedes. No idea how it presents itself in your model. In the current one, it is automatically activated when you use cruise control. It is an obstacle avoidance measure to make cruise control safe on busy roads. Makes it perfect in my opinion.

I have a Sprinter registered in September 2018
We bought it in December 2019

As it a Hymer 60th Anniversary edition which was in 2017, means I suspect my base vehicle was actually delivered to Hymer in 2017 or maybe early 2018.

I do not have the lane departure feature, it was an optional extra.
I don't think I have the crash avoidance feature, but I'm not prepared to experiment to find out!

I have a cruse control stick that by process of elimination I have found will do either cruse control (which may be a great feature in the USA with wide open roads, but on typical European busy roads is dangerous ) or it will fix a top speed which is a great feature for typical European roads.

However if ACC exists, I've not found it yet

Click it in will operate the speed limiter.

I'm really surprised you havent come across Cruise control before, its been fitted on increasing number of models but base models for many years. The Adaptive Cruise Control works the same until it detects a slower moving vehicle in front when it maintains a distance to them. OK in road works but a real pain on multi lane roads ( yes each to their own opinion StephDeLux )

PeteH keep seeing SWIMBO. What is that?
Acronym for "She Who Must Be Obeyed".:giggle: . Remember "Rumpole of the Bailey"?. He always referred to wife Hilda as SWMBO.

Origins?. H Rider Haggard, Used the phrase in his 19th Cent Novel "SHE". (1887) In reference to the White Queen of a tribe of African native peoples.

I can afford to buy a new 'nice' Motorhome but I'm definitely going older next time. I've tried a lot of the new stuff on hire cars and trucks and really don't want:-

Stop Start - hate it
Ad blue - future reliability issues
Euro 6 upwards - Run too hot
Crash avoidance braking - jams the brakes on at crazy times
lane departure - annoying
Adaptive cruise control - hooks onto the slowest vehicle out there and steadily gets slower

What I'm saying is that I want to drive my Motorhome, I want to decide what it turns off and on and when and when it changes gear etc. I will take my chances with EZ's avoiding them if at all possible and the fines are probably going to be less than the depreciation anyway.

I Agree. What happened to the "kiss" theory?.
S/S. = Pain in the posterior. I always switch it off, usually after the first stop. There is a way of permanently disabling it but as it`s on SWMBO`s vehicle she won`t let me do it.
E-6. = An unnecessary step too far, Ad blu? mostly just a waste of good fertilizer!.
C-A = Lulls the already brain dead drivers who infest the road into thinking they can drive even closer to me!.
L-D = another tranquillizer for the already brain dead!.
ADC = Never had it but again, it`s the driver should be doing the thinking, that way we all live longer!.

Having said all that I do like my Auto Gear boxes, and the one on my Rapido (3L Merc;) ) is as smooth as. And that from a Guy who for many years swore HE would never have one!.

The most modern stuff on my blue car are, a wireless, seat belts and............erm that's it.

New models after September 2017 or existing models from November 2019 asfaik. A step too far Imho, the adblue and the excessive heat is not going to help longevity
Any Euro 6 bluetec vehicle - mine is affected and that is 2013 chassis
