Merc truck motorhome

Wouldn't have to do much more than a jog going up windy hill and he would probably have beaten me up Birdlip, only 6 gears as well!!
Ha you're local then.. or at least know about my local hill :D

Local to Windy Hill but did a fair bit of Southampton container work from the NW at one time and I preferred that route despite the hills at Birdlip and Blunsdon, still do:xgrin:

When I 1st started driving trucks I had a Merc 230bhp none turbo 38 tonner, it was awful so under powered and the worst of it was I was always full at 38 Ton loading stuff like fertilizer out of ici at avonmouth or pulp out of felizstowe or concrete beams out of Roger bullivants in Burton

God that thing was so slow up the hills it does not bear thinking about

No furry dice hanging off the mirror. Deal breaker for me!

My first was a Guy Big J 5 speed crash box engine I think less than 200 bhp. What joy.

Anywhere in this country it is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

True spongy. But its never going to be someone’s normal motorhome. Race car or bike owners accommodation prob. Or film set maybe. Did I read that it was built for that dort if use?

Indeed (y) go to any bike or car event and stuff like this is the norm and very useable, so really it just comes down to what you want to do with it.

Most money I ever earned was exporting those old 5LW and 6LW Gardners after they became "unfashionable" in the UK. The Hong Kong junk captains who had previously relied on sail power thought they had a speedboat once a 6LW had been fitted.

Ahh memories... Seddon diesel with Perkins 6354? Plated at 26ton pulling heavy 20ft containers. David brown gearbox and two speed axle. Doing soton to Grangemouth. Start of a glittering career....1975.

won't fit on the drive
