eight years in theory, a newby in practice!!!
Has anyone else spotted any errors in the route planning map you get from the CAMC with their site handbook?
Being a Jock I know Scotland extremely well and while planning a trip I noticed the package I received a few weeks ago from the club under the coffee table.
I opened the map and spread it onto the table. My eyes went to Glenfinnan, it was exactly where I expected to find it, at the northern tip of Loch Shiel on the A830, then I noticed it on the southern tip of Loch Shiel on the A861 just where Acharacle should be!
A little while later I noticed that the map has called Anstruther in Fife, Anstruther Easter 🤷‍♂️.
I don't suppose many would use the map as their only means of navigation but if they did and decided to go to the 'other' Glenfinnan on the A861 they would end up taking an unnecessary ferry journey and have to negotiate some narrow stretches of road with passing places. :whistle2:
I know that the map's main reason for existing is to show where the club sites are located, but you've still got to get there.

Mine goes in its rightful place, in with the sites book in the cupboard beside the desk.

And stays there for two years until it gets replaced by the next one!

OK, sit down Wee fella your are about to be bored!

Being a Fifer, albeit long departed, there were originally two burghs in Ainster (the proper Fifer way of calling it), Easter and Wester. This was back in the days of James VI (I to the softies down south).

The boundary between them was the Dreel Burn that enters the sea next to the old cemetery and, more importantly, just along from the best chippie (no not the famous one!), The Wee Chippy!

Great to see C&MC keeping up with the times, though!
