Making new friends in Brixham (not)

ive found the only part of outsiders the cornish and devonians like is out money

Sadly, many (but not all) of the "Cornish" businesses fleecing the visitors are outsiders themselves from north of the Tamar, which is where all their ill gotten gains disappear to at the end of the season. Been like that for many decades!

They're probably the ones who were parked on Paignton green earlier on. Made sure they emptied their toilet cassettes on the grass before they left.
Getting pretty fed up of this lot now.
BTW, just to the left of the left most van there is a gate. After that it is pedestrians only. I live in Paignton.
Not doubting what you are saying but didn’t you take a photo with your camera including their registration nos. and hand them to the police and council, I’m somewhat doubtful when someone is supposed to have emptied their cassettes on the grass, nobody that witnessed them committing the Motorhomers cardinal sin even took a photo. Hmmm

If you enlarge the photo maybe the rear Rh may be parked, however looks like maybe front RH and LH vans are playing the "I'm not reversing, Your in the wrong! (I can't reverse this thing anyway but not going to admit it).Game. But then we're not there and have only a photo to go on.
Crazylegs that's not a pop just an observation, you probably had chance to observe the comings and goings. Any more photos?

Does look like a non story. All the vans are on the move (or trying) - they thought there might be somewhere to park ? - wrong..
If you use Google Earth you can see they are between the car parking bays heading for a dead end......

But somebody will produce it as evidence against motorhomes.

Nice place is Brixham, unfortunately were not going this year, but normally we would have been down there by now for two/three weeks. Nice campsite £75/w, no dogs allowed which her indoors likes.
Shame some people make it bad for the rest of us.
Can’t work out the £75/W, this time of year they charge £11 per person per night, so that works out £154/W ??

Special price for September only. It was priced to fill vacant slots for that time of year. Remember it was a private site.

I say WAS, her indoors the lovely Wendy has found out that the site may be up for re-development of around 140 houses. Now that is one small lane allowing either a car or single deck bus, but not too vehicles in opposite directions. There are also houses and a garage at one end, so to my opinion the road would have be to be widened for that as well as for all the builders lorries etc.

I hope not, it is a nice site, okay basic showers but the whole system worked, and worked well.

So gwyntaxi, that is the situation and the reason for low cost per week.

Flook

7

7 X 11 =. £77.. Prob £2discount for booking full week?
Yes Mo I see where you are coming from, but I was working on the theory that as most vans have two persons that works out at 2 persons X £11=
=£22 X 7 = £154, and I assumed, wrongly maybe that Flook was basing his calculations on two occupants.

Hi there Flook,
Many thanks for clarifying that, it sounds like a really nice spot and seeing as we are going to be in Brixham some time this month I thought it would be an ideal stop for a few nights, but having checked their website it appears that the site is still probably closed due to CV-19, pleas ignore my other post in response to Movan as I had replied to Mo before I saw your response, and hopefully the site will continue.

Hi all, this is what Wendy has found, sorry it seems I cannot share the link so let me try something else, okay here goes https://umfc.info/
Hope this will help. You will see the layout of the campsite, it is all grass with hookups. Two shower blocks, waste disposal etc. I am thinking of putting this in the main section to see if any Funsters live around that area can shed more light on the proposal and they are requesting comments as well.
So your thoughts on this issue, even if you have never been there the photo's are good to give comparison to where the site is in relation to Brixham.

That’s you’re opinion which of course you are entitled to, might I point out that it seems to be at odds with the locals of Brixham on a Brixham Fishtown facebook page. Had there not been numerous postings complaining about these motorhomes I wouldn’t have wasted my time lifting the photo and posting it here.
