Macron to charge non EU more to visit the Lo…..

Same system was in operation for many sites in Greece and Crete when we visited. Mrs Orion qualified for the EU rate only on production of her Eire passport, I didn’t! - although I did wing it on a few occasions as her ‘accompanying third country spouse’! ;)

Same as florida residents going to Disney and universal parks. Virtually stealing it compared to tourist rates

Glad I spent my two days there in 1971 then. It was bustling with Americans having photos taken with Venue de Milo. Goodness only knows what it is like now with the Japanese and their selfie sticks.

Pleased to say I have no interest in going there.
Found the Van Gogh gallary in Amsterdam boring, did think much of Florence.

Now the Banksy exhibition in Bristol was awesome. 🤣

Won’t affect us as we went there many years ago, and no need to return. Read this morning that the Louvre is in need of structural repairs as nothing has been done on it for years. Said it was the most visited museum in the world- surprised that they haven’t been keeping on top of the state of the building.

I noticed in the Hebrides that Scots had cards which got them cheaper admission than other folks.

Look after your own country and its citizens first should be the mantra for all politicians.
As to the specific, for me, if something costs too much then, I won't do it, see it, eat it, drink it, whatever. Just because it's there doesn't make me "entitled ".

If it's funded out of EU funding and French taxation why not have it cheaper for them. It's the same thing as tourist taxation to fund the costs associated with tourism I don't see a problem

The description of the system that I read differentiated between EU Residents and non-Residens, not Citizens.

If true many us on here would pay the lower fee. 'Up ladder Jack....'

These clickbait headlines make me laugh. Did Macron even mention Britain, why do so many fall for them.

These stories are just designed to get people to shout "Bloody French Didn't charge us tourist tax in 1944". or, from a high horse, Tee hee, you're not in the club anymore, or Brexit the gift, sunlit uplands etc.

I wish more people would see these things for what they are; news outlets, sowing division while fighting for clicks.

Seems fair enough, it’s not as though it’s somewhere you go loads of times on a trip to Paris. I don’t think I’ll lose any sleep over it.
