It's not the M25 braced for closure, it's anyone remotely in the area. Remaining local roads are probably going to gridlock, it's bad enough when there is a bit of a prang, but whole weekend means area could be a complete no go zone.

Getting to work is not going to be fun. :(

I can state really quite easily that the above will occur. It will be gridlock

I'm retired from my career. But being slightly mad I have a role for winter where every little helps.
Now you have shiny new panels let spring start and get the hellmoit if there then

It has been closed many times in the past for roadworks. Its only the southerners getting excited about nothing. The M25 is dead at night. A proper busy motorway is the M6. Busy day and night.

Yup but on the M25 you need eyeballs in your exhaust, the driving can be quite poor and as a regular motorist on all the motorways M25 is No1, the M5 is a close second

Having said this Chris Rea outlined the road to Hell part 1 (motorway to hell)

Should try living where we do to get anywhere south m2 a249 junction been murder for over a year and before they finish that they start putting up a couple of bridges to make a bigger roundabout over the a249

Hmm, I will be travelling to Chertsey CCC on the 18th (if it's not underwater) but that will be in the afternoon so hopefully it will be clear by then.

Just pray they don't run over time!

M3 A331 A31 to Guildford then A 246 to Leatherhead would be my detour but Guildford will be gridlocked as well.

It wouldn't surprise me if Guildford gets so backed up the A3 has every chance of being a car park and that is 7 miles after the blockage.

Glad I m not there

Just been on FB local pages and all the diversion routes were empty. Quickest journeys ppl have had and quieter than lockdown.

Ppl took note !

Earlier this week people were stocking up locally as if we were going into another lock down. The amount of booze flying off the shelves was interesting.

Clearly most locals had heeded the warnings of impending gloom and doom. At lunchtime my journey where every little helps was very pleasant. The store usually heaving went on a job invention scheme for idle staff. Maps suggest the signed diversion route was mostly good, except a usual snarl up approaching the A3 from Byfleet. Problems occurred for those on their sat nav route via Weybridge, a usual stoppage hot spot.

Hopefully tomorrow will be similar.

Having searched online, I cannot find the dates when the further M25 closures are scheduled for - between now and September!

Does anyone know?

Nope, try the M5 down south every weekend in the summer.
