Rally Chat Lyndon Top weekend Aug 11th - 13th 2023

PS mention was made of a CCC meet. There’s a CCC site right next door but it it is a very different location! The great thing about Lyndon Top is it’s field with water and a dump point and nothing else.

Just waiting on date confirmation from Lyndon Top 👍

There is a possibility of a small discount 😁

However another option is we all book independently and pay the site directly, this would reduce my admin significantly and mean we can gather as a ‘meet’ not a ‘rally’

We would still be allocated the separate area just for our use, is a £1 or £2 discounted rate going to be a game changer for anybody wanting to go?

It is £15 / night standard rate

It’s your rally/meet David so whatever works best for you will be good for us.

I agree - you could tie yourself up in knots trying to please and/or meet everyone's individual needs.
Me too - keep it simple if you can.
Cindy should find out about her work commitments/escape plan soon. 🤞

Get yourself an Admin secretary David.....Terry & Bob did

Always wanted to go to Lyndon top but sadly we won't be able to make this one. Have a great time all!

Right, decision made, this is going to be a meet, not an official rally

Lyndon Top have allocated the first field on the right, accessed before the barrier, makes it much easier to get in as the keypad is a bit low and the barrier a bit narrow 🙂

We will all book ourselves independently with Lyndon Top, I have told them we will add MHF after our registration number , but they are very relaxed and say it won’t matter if we don’t , the site manager will liaise with us to confirm arrivals

I have booked in already for Thursday 10th August for 4 nights setting off for home on Monday 14th

I will bring my bike, but not sure I will go right round the water , done that once now 🤔😁 might be tempted to walk it though bizarrely 🙄 I think it’s 15 miles but will check that out more precisely before committing or at least before setting off 👍😁 there are two pubs 👍 and a couple of ice cream options

Bike might be used to visit local pub as well 🙂 which is also an easy flat under 1 mile walk

No specific agenda , just another opportunity to meet old and new friends, put the world to right over a coffee or maybe something stronger for those that chose 👍🙂

I will see if a food delivery can be arranged for one of the nights but no promises on that yet, it is likely we will have a car with us, so would have a collection option

I think a cake and coffee gathering always goes down well, so bring a cake please , weather dependent maybe Sunday morning for that 👍

If you could please post on here to say you have booked that would be good so we have an idea on numbers, I will then update page 1 with attendees

There’s a small walk to the golf club for drinks and food, and a good breakfast in the morning

Unfortunately, we are unable to attend ☹️, hope it goes well. Have fun🤞

DavidG58 As this is now happening. Maybe best to start a new thread under the scehduled rallies / meet section.
Put all details and the attendance list on that first page, i find this much easier to follow and all info in one place. (y)

Good luck with it, I will confirm as soon as i know our movements..

I will have a look at moving it, does it show up any differently ? I see so much confusion with multiple threads for same event I thought it would be easier to leave it here all in one place 🤔👍

I would just start a new thread under the scheduled heading... Call it Lyndon top meet and the dates.
Copy and paste the stuff you have already posted above ( #42) job done.. (y) Edit anything you think needs changing.

DavidG58 ,
Sorry David we are now unable to attend, I’ve been reminded by the boss that we’re having a garden pub party. Have a good weekend 👍

Have a good time everyone! I am with family (what's left of it :crying1:) over that weekend, so cannot make it, next time perhaps?

Hi David if you start a rally /meet thread as the “starter” you can edit it so as Steve tonka says everything / information can be put on the first post along with the list of attendees 😉 That way it makes no difference when your thread goes off topic as all info is on first post - if you look at Lisa’s first post on 3fs /Drax all information is there without having to read 20 pages plus 😉
Edit forgot to say a lot of funsters don’t read or take instruction well 😁

Interested, will check with Cindy regarding her work commitments (as we’re away around/including the previous weekend).
It looks like you will have the misfortune of Cindy and I joining you. Will likely aim to arrive sometime Thursday and depart Monday. Due to now elderly dogs, one of which is somewhat arthritic, I doubt we’ll be yomping significant distances around the water.

Thanks Terry

Like I mentioned in reply to Steve , I thought it might confuse more than help having two threads for the same event 🤔

These threads can still be edited , but I will create another and see how that goes 👍

Terry appears to have joined my management team 🙄😁

Do you know the answer to this please Lisa

If you edit post #1 of a rally thread do those watching get a notification ? Then does it take them to the edited comment

I see confusion developing rapidly, mostly mine 🤔🤣

I have no idea what he gets up to on here 😆

Unfortunately, if you edit the first post nobody gets a notification.

Kerry might manage the 1.5miles to the Horse & Jockey and maybe the 2.5 miles to the Wheatsheaf
I think we might manage either both of those too. ;)

I need to have a chat with my builder/chippie mate, to confirm his dates at ours first, before I make the booking.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Actually it’s only 1.3 miles to the Horse & Jockey, and 2.1 miles to the Wheatsheaf according to Google maps, so we’ll within our walking Capabilities 😜😋🍻🍻🍻🍻
