I'm a newbie
So I’m working on Isle of Mull. My LPG will run out in next few days in my underslung tank. The closest service station in Onich has had their LPG pump decommissioned. So now I either have to drive all the way to Glasgow or Inverness to get replenishments, both options are very far and very costly. Has anyone ever been able to hook up a standard gas bottle to their campervan system? Or has anyone any bright ideas on how to overcome this predicament. I’m looking at electric ovens and hobs for an alternative temporary solution but at £150 it’s about the same cost as making the bloody journey to a garage…..all for a measly spend of £15 to fill my tank!!
Answers greatly appreciated 🙏

bottle and regulator beside the van disconnect the outlet pipe from the regulator on the tank and join with a hose and jubilee clip the hose should push over the olive thats onthepipe just slide the nut away
you could even take the regulator of the underslung mine was a standard pol fitting for a propane bottle

Most islanders have several part time jobs so if you do see someone it's worth asking if they know where Alex / John / Calum / insert your name of choice is.

I agree about island life :) when our daughter was on Lewis there was a company who took in parcels on the mainland and used a handcart to take everything onto the ferry so as to cut down transport costs. When we went (quite regularly) we often picked up larger items in the car for people.
