Getting Better
Which side is preferred for gpl filler for gasit tank for filling at fuel garages in Europe..?

Drivers side (uk drivers side)
Or passenger side

I don't think it makes much difference, we've had the pumps on either side, so fit wherever is easiest?

We have an underslung tank, so I fitted the fill point to get the shortest pipe run which means it's on the driver's side, but a choice, then as others have said, on the same side as your diesel fill point.

Looking at some pumps on Google map (street view) it would seem that having it on the drivers side would be better for me as the gpl pump mostly seems to be on the outside pump on the end and with me getting my wheelchair out of the passenger side may mean I have to park too close to the pump and won’t be able to get along side to fill…
Swings and roundabouts I suppose on how the garage set up….😎

When I put the Gasit system in the Hobby I put it on the same side as the fuel but this Vantage has it on the opposite side. Not had any problems so far.

Would there be a problem coming out of the gasit tank with a short hose and putting a tee piece on and then sending shorter hose’s to each side..?🤔😎

Ours is opposite side to Diesel filler...but for you, I would choose whatever is the easiest...

As in my other thread, do the gaslow Steal braided hose fit the gasit fittings, does anyone know..?

Don’t know. Sounds ok but not sure.

It seem I can reading gaslow accessories fittings but would cost around £200 for the fittings and hoses,

Looks like the easy option and come straight out of the tank and to the filler new filler position on drivers side….🤨😎

All the fillers I've used in the UK and Europe have been on separate pumps. So I've had to move regardless.

Given that LPG cars have fillers on either side, I don't think it matters. Whichever gives you the shortest (cheapest) run of hose.

This where it is at the moment, the tanks outlet comes out of the tank the other side and the long filler hose loops around on itself round the water&waste tanks then kinks into the filler, it has a split in the hose right on that bend by the filler so I’ve got to replace it.
I also want to move the filler back towards the rear wheel so it’s not so exposed.

The easiest and cheapest option is a hose direct from the tank to a new positioned filler on the other side… think that’s what I’ll do..👍🏼😎

I put the fillers at the back of our PVCs, both on the UK nearside, one in the bumper and the other in the corner trim, have you considered putting it in the rear centre middle?

As Ian says if it's fairly easy to fit to both sides go for it.

I think they do but they are 3 times the price. Whichever type you use they will need changing in 10 years.

The Gaslow ones are 20 years aren't they?

Can’t find any long ones on the gasit site but there’s many lengths on the gaslow, I’d prefer stainless braided too.

It’ll be a long run to the back of the van Minxy Mel and I want t avoid that and it’ll make it more costly…😎

Autogas 2000 do the rubber ones up to 2.5m.

10 years as a filler hose .
20 years as a gas pigtail (regulator hose )
Some suppliers are now offering thermoplastic hoses with loose fittings that the user has to make up ⚠️
We use thermoplastic hoses for longer lengths in our workshop but will not supply to retail customers.
