Listed @ $89.98 (£70.99 @ todays rate.) I can have it shipped (free?) to my son in Texas. he comes over quite regularly

Right, my twin sensors have just arrived from Gas It, now all I have to do is fit them ... only problem is I have two full 14Kg Alugas bottles very tightly packed into the gas locker.:Eeek:

Anyone else fitted them to aluminium cylinders and if so how have you fixed them?

Thought I might clean the bottoms  and try to hold the sensors with gaffa tape??

Wombles posted this on the other Mopeka sensor thread, does it give you ideas.

What about double sided tape (holds on number plates for years)

The actual sensor part of the unit needs to be making direct contact with the gas cylinder for the ultrasonics to pass as un-interrupted as possible. I struggled to find a position that worked on our underslung tank through the protective paint I had applied to our tank, so I'm pretty sure the double sided foam tape would cause a problem but no harm in trying.

I picked mine up from lpg a while ago and can confirm they are very good as well as accurate to the current level.
Been away for two weeks and not had to worry about whether I had enough gas(y)

I bought one from Gas-It. Very impressed
I was interested to see if it showed 80% full or 100% full when I topped up the gas it tank.
It dislays 96% so must recognise that one can only fill the tank to 80% capacity, and call that full (100%)

The Bluetooth monitor I bought with mine shows both tanks at 80% full when I know one is brand new and the other slightly used. I haven't set up the phone app yet which might show more detail on the actual level but I'm guessing as the tanks are only 80% full when newly refilled that's what it's showing?

Not sure why but this thread seems to have dropped off the radar? It doesn’t show on recent listings, so let’s see what happens with a bump.

Took the bait and ordered one from Amazon.com, paid by Revolut and was charged £42.33 for the $53.65.
It works very well, we had a full tank minus just an overnight of fridge time and one kettle boil, after about 30mins the TankCheck now reads 98% so pretty accurate.
It’s bluetooth seems to have quite a good range, I can get a signal in the house from the van on the drive and having changed the refresh to 10s look forward to none too frequent battery changes!
A good buy methinks as we can only get one 11kg refillable in our locker so this does the job well.

Hold the sync button on the sensor for 5 seconds and it will change to 10.5 seconds refresh rate. Hold the sync button on the sensor for 5 seconds again and it will change to back to 3.5 seconds refresh rate.

Holding the sync button isn't doing it on both sensors

Looking at yours the firmware is v1.2
My firmware is v 1.0

Does the app on your phone display the "Update Rate" as I see on Mopeka's website the instruction for the app don't show the "Update Rate" I'm running an Android phone.

By the way, for those who wish to buy from Gasit rather than US Amazon, the discount code from a while ago (mhfungas) is still working. It's only 5% but reduces the delivered cost of a single sensor to £52.24. Before anyone points it out, I realise this is still a tenner more than buying via Amazon and, as someone else suggested, you can probably get a discount by asking over the 'phone but it could help some.

I've got an Alugas cylinder so will need to fashion a holding arrangement, perhaps something like the one sold by that German site, mentioned above and on the other thread.

Gasit is free delivery for ONLINE orders over £50 but don't forget to include the discount code when ordering.

Ex forces can get a discount of 10% with any Gas-It product if they obtain their discount code through the Defence Discount Service (DDS) app.

Interesting reading both of these threads and this system would have solved my gas problems in Norway last year. No doubt I would find the answers elsewhere but I assume I'd have a sensor/transmitter on both the 11kg and 6kg Gasit bottles feeding either the Monitor or the App. Given refillables are meant to stay in place how often would the batteries need replacing which in my tight locker means the whole lot being dismantled and taken out?

Trying to order mine with the discount code. Brings the price down below £50 for Free P&P:cautious: so I have added the £0.89p sticker and it comes through at £50.30. (y) Just have to stop works computer blocking Pay Pal:rolleyes:
