LPG availability ? (gas usage issues)

I've tried to attach a photo of my regulator, is this type going to be suitable to have the two bottles both connected (or be made to be able to ?)

you add a sort of 'double adaptor' ?

thanks
You have a single bulkhead mounted regulator.

This is my setup with 2 x 14kg Alugas bottles a dual regulator (with crash sensor & auto change over), 2 x gas filters & Truma Duo C Remote which gives me an indicator inside the van when the bottles change over.

Not the cheapest set up the regulator is around £180, the filters £40 each, the Duo C Remote around £130 & if you need the ani-rupture hoses £38 each (some of the latest refillable bottles come with anti rupture valves). So about £460 plus bottles, if self fitting.

A very cheap way of doing it is to fit bottle top regulator then connect the low pressure pipes via a T piece. Cost about £30 plus the bottles.
You don't need filters as bottle top regulators don't gum up & you fit them anyway, all the pipework is low pressure so you don't need crimped connectors.
Downsides you can't run with the gas turned on & when a cylinder runs out (always at the most inconvenient time) you have to go outside to turn one regulator off the other one on.

Personally I think it's worth spending the extra for the convenience.

Hi, we have a Gas-it system with a 38l bottle under the vehicle. We fill it up via LPG pump at Morrison’s petrol station next door to the liberty stadium in Swansea. It’s the closest for us in Llanelli ( 10miles away )
Hi, that would equate to 15kg of gas. I have two 10kg with the BP Gaslight, which means in effect that once one bottle is empty,I have four and a half days to get another one (in winter). Do you fill up locally and return in time to top up again, or hit the road and just be vigilant on the gas levels.

We have an 11kg (or it might be 13kg) Alugas and a "spare" Calor bottle. When we get to the bottom of the green wedge on the Alugas gauge we top it up next time we see anywhere that supplies LPG. I've noticed that some Shell garages have LPG (at a price!!!!!! but still a lot cheaper than Calor). On the routes we usually take to and from home we know where the stockists are and fill on the way home if we need to, so setting off with no less than a half full cylinder at the next trip. As we are tending to do shorter trips at the moment (down to my parents and home) it can be a few weeks between refills.

LPG is much more widely available in Europe but you will probably need an adapter (get a set before you leave).

Fill up locally and keep watch whilst on the road

I'd investigate the possibility of a small leak.

Refillable uses a different mindset to exchange bottles.
You don't have to wait until nearly empty before searching out new ones - simply top up when you see an outlet.
