More chance of getting stuck going slow personally I'd boot it then you will get out the side might be minus a few bits if roof but atleast you will get to your pitchActually, going slowly, that might be exactly the thing to do!

Perfectly sensible practice to stick your head out of the sunroof to check for potential collisions. A&E treatment is still free at the point of delivery, so much cheaper than a new m/home roof ...Just like you do when you're driving your MH under a low bridge...
I have measured it Ray and think I have about 75mm to spare but it’s not a lot , it will be squeaky bum time tomorrowThe Benimar Mileo 294 is described as a low profile, my Delaware is 3.02metres high and isn't a low profile so maybe time to get the tape measure
out to check.![]()
Excellent advice , thanks very muchWent through in car today after letting the local bus pass slowly through. If worried go via Skipton,Embsay, Eastby, Barden, joining B6160 1 km north of C&MH club site. NB. Make sure you get the left turn in Eastby otherwise you end up back in Bolton Abbey wrong side of the arch!
It must be something your carrying on the roof that's protruding?.I have measured it Ray and think I have about 75mm to spare but it’s not a lot , it will be squeaky bum time tomorrow![]()

Steve
How much is your moho worth compared to a bit of extra fuel to go the long but safe way, my lorries do 7 mpg and we have to go bloody miles out of our way sometimes to avoid a bridge that is slightly higher than a loaded car transporter but much cheaper than getting it wrongI have measured it Ray and think I have about 75mm to spare but it’s not a lot , it will be squeaky bum time tomorrow![]()
Yes a satellite dish.It must be something your carrying on the roof that's protruding?.
Yes good advice as wellHow much is your moho worth compared to a bit of extra fuel to go the long but safe way, my lorries do 7 mpg and we have to go bloody miles out of our way sometimes to avoid a bridge that is slightly higher than a loaded car transporter but much cheaper than getting it wrong
Wow that looks so much higher than the picture I was sent , brilliant bring it on
But how high is a single decker bus?Wow that looks so much higher than the picture I was sent , brilliant bring it on![]()
you have to climb up into one and stand up easily so i’d say as high as most motorhomesBut how high is a single decker bus?
Looking at that second picture you could get through with me stood on the roof.2.9 m I just checked![]()
Thanks for that,it’s funny I have driven all over Europe including the canary isles and never gave it a second thought . Now I am going an hour and half away from home and stressing about it , I think I have been in lock down for too long .Honestly, you are worrying about nothing and it’s something to add to your bragging rights, been through in a Hymer Starline lots of times on the way to Grassington no problem.
Better to be safe than sorry I fully agree with your question. Thanks for that,it’s funny I have driven all over Europe including the canary isles and never gave it a second thought . Yes we did have to pull in both mirrors and it really is quite a scary sight when you come round the corner and it’s facing you . It’s definitely a sh*t or bust momentYou know the rules Howard, no picture it didn't happen
On a serious note, looking at the picture of the bus it looks like it would be close on the mirrors, did you have to fold your mirrors in?
we walked along the alternative route most of those roads are single track roads and not the best . I probably won’t go there again because of the roads but Howgill’s site is very nice .I wouldn’t risk it personally. Mainly because if I hit it,the duchess would go berserk. It just isn’t worth the macho image. Go the long way round.
I'd go for the bust, personally; more comforting and a lot less messy ...Yes we did have to pull in both mirrors and it really is quite a scary sight when you come round the corner and it’s facing you . It’s definitely a sh*t or bust moment.
They’re actually pretty good roads for around here. Coming over the top from Skipton is very easy. Just don’t forget to take the left turn on leaving Embsay.we walked along the alternative route most of those roads are single track roads and not the best .
