The best one I have seen was a converted routemaster double decker. Upstairs 3 double bedrooms and a lg water tank at the back. Under the stairs a shower and loo. The entire downstairs was a kitchen diner. They had put two pairs of bi fold doors across the two sides of the rear platform.( those old busses had the jump on/off platform with a grab pole at the back ). No problems with payload! But it probably did gallons to the mile rather than miles to the gallon!

they do look great, so much character compared to a white box, and have to ask, why would travelling a big distance in one day in one of them, be any different to being in any other vehicle?
any why would they want to?

We are on the CCP at Bourdeilles in the Dordogn and this Airstream is parked close to us. The rear overhang is scary for these roads and there is a spare wheel and a bike rack after that. The engine sounds beautiful too. It is French registered and LHD
