After spending the night in the cattle market in Louth ,Lincs ,we moved on to RAF Coningsby, and were very lucky to see a Sptfire and Tornado display. Then we headed to the Bluebell Inn,just outside Coningsby, which was used by the Lancaster spaudrons, including the dambusters, during ww2. There is so much memorabilia to see in the Inn, including where the airman used to leave pennies in the cracks of the beams to buy a beer when they next visited, and if they didn't come back from a mission they were hammered deep into the beam. Sadly there are many pennies still there. Also the ceiling is covered in the AIrmens signatures.
After a very good meal we stayed in the Inn's carpark for the night.
