Just a tad..
Now I’m happy to park and overnight wherever BUT, unless I was shopping, which of course some of these Motorhomers could be, who’d want to park up in La Zenia? Almost as bad as Ikea Murcia. 😉🤣

Each to their own I guess! 🤪

I’ve never been able to understand the mindset that would allow someone to stay somewhere like that? If that was our only option I would give up the motorhome tomorrow 😕
Me too, I scratch my head in confusion at some in their £100k+ vehicles "I'm saving 15 euros" by parking in a car park

We stayed for one night to get our dog’s pet passport from the vet there - just for convenience! No different from stopping at Auchan Boulogne when we come over on the tunnel, but wouldn’t stay more than one night! It’s all about convenience really - we use free stops, camp sites, Aires, camping car park - whatever is where we want to be!
*should also say we never bother about price - free or €30, it doesn’t matter!

That a Aire is fine when it's not too busy and very convenient for the tram into the city.

Just arrived back at ikea this afternoon after going to Cartagena for a few days.
Need to be here for some property viewing.

Absolutely packed. Same Dutch campers here from last week. It’s as if you can’t even look at the original parking due to them almost reserving places.
Both sides are full now and they are going on to the next car park at the top

It’ll be fine as long as there’s spaces for customers, the minute customers start complaining there will be height barriers up. Walmart went through the same in the states and Canada resulting in RVs not being able to overnight in some store carparks. I Fear this will creep over this side of the pond and the same end game will result🤷‍♂️

The couple of times we have been there has been plenty of space in the Aire and no vans in the carparks, last time was last April.

Either last year or the year before at this time of year the police cleared them all from the car parks.

I can see why they would 2 parts where the vans parked across the bays a leave a gap are like Dutch party central. They don’t care though unfortunately

We were there a few days ago just to get shopping (not overnight) and it was rammed, however we had already decided to go to the car park at the other end of the mall as it's a shorter walk to and from Al Campo. The only time we'd even consider staying is if we desperately needed to be close for something important, eg a poorly dog in the vet's overnight.

We stayed at the Dos Mares mall between San Javier and San Pedro de Pinatar, only because it was getting late (we'd been held up by traffic) and we were tired so decided not to plod on to our intended stop, it was purely just a suitable and sensible overnight stop.

I certainly wouldn't want to stay longer than necessary in these types of places like some do.

So in the interests of information and me having far too much time. I’ve just had a walk and an official count at IKEA tonight still the odd van trying to get on but both car parks are full

So the official aire part is full and has 106 vans the car park next door also full 117 vans. Now vans are going into Alcampo car park 4 in there atm
So a total 227vans

Wow! Each to their own, not for us. I want space around me to feel safer from the risk of fire to sleep at night. I know they may not happen often but I’ve seen damage caused by fires and prefer not to be so close to another camper.

I’ll eat my hat if they let that continue!!
Not for me🤔😁😁

Unless things change this might be the future. C.150k new motorhomes registered in Europe every year. That’s over 1m more since I started in 2018!!🤣🤣

We've decided that the most appropriate word for many of the Motorhoming community that visit Spain every winter is Selfish...
Their behaviour is somewhat annoying...having just left a free Camperstop here in Murcia with a 48 hour limit, it's obvious that some vans are there for the duration...Trailers, Awning, Tables , chairs and even a cattery set up...
This location is a walkers and cyclists area...no beach just a bar and shop, but these people are migrating inland as the Coast and IKEA are rammed...
Where we wake this morning on our own, is an incredible place, just as well we still know how to avoid the crowds...Cannot wait until Mid March, most winter visitors are heading home...having taken over Spain for the winter...then the charm, beauty and tranquillity return....

Waste of time looking at that site especially now as this time of year the winter motorhomers have taken over creating ‘permanent’ pitches. When we looked , it was a mess basically.

We stayed two nights at La Zenia in early January, it was busy but not bad. We’re not in a 100k MH but down here for our 90 days so it’s good to throw in a couple of free nights occasionally and do some shopping. La Zenia has a large Al Campo and probably the cheapest fuel on the Orihuela coast so definitely worth a visit. As for some of the big MHs they are obviously not going to get on a lot of aires just because of their size even more so if towing so I get the attraction of somewhere like La Zenia. Yes MHs are selfish especially some of our nearest European neighbours and yes they are ruining it for everyone but life goes on and so do we, now in Lagos same problems here.

It’s a good stopover on the way down through Spain 👍 Many more places next to the sea which is less than a mile from
the Boulevard. Was there for a couple of days ago , but only as we did have a house there and finishing off the last of the final details from the house sale from more than a year ago 🙄

I don’t disagree but to be fair most of the vans are spaced
For us anything is better than a campsite.
Same here. (y)

I’ve read they have the occasional clearance. (y)

Well I’m surprised how organised and quiet it is tonight by 10 silence.
During the day there are chairs ect out but very peaceful and security guards going around don’t seem to mind
