Whoever now owns it, check under settee, there's bound to be an uneaten crisp or two, seven chips, one pringle (broken) and a 20p ....
However if the OP is looking for it there may be some 'extras' ...

Or there could be more selfless reasons:

• a spare key located since parting company with the vehicle
• wanting to pass on paperwork that did not go with the van whether relating to a fuller service history or a transferable warranty
• Some little tip or trick as to how to deal with some little foible of a van's component part.

Of course it could be "Can you check to see if you can find my winning lottery ticket anywhere in the van"!!!

It could also be that it was a forced sale in bad times and the OP has a sentimental interest in what's happened to it.
