Looking for a electric MTB advice please

Rene and I have a pair of Koga bikes now Steve. Koga are fantastic quality Dutch bikes. Rene’s is a full Rolls Royce Dutch tourer, mine is more of a trail bike. TBH, on the flat I mostly ride it without any assistance to get a bit of exercise. The Bosch hub drive and 600 battery give me like an easy 60 mile range on lower power assist settings and variable terrain.

Anyway, have a google of Koga as they make very high quality peddle machines! 👍🏻

Mine is a Whyte E160 Full-on EMTB. I have had it a few years now and have covered over 6,000 miles mostly off-road. If I was to buy a replacement it would be another one of these.

I have a Specialized Levo super light carbon for sale. AXS electronic gear change and carbon wheels. Very light for a e-bike. Bought a new one so selling this to make way for

Super light carbon sounds a bit more than I need ? My friend bought a set of carbon wheels for his around £2k 😮

I put it on marketplace yesterday. For £2250. I need the space. My son has a motorbike and three bikes in the garage. Doesn’t leave much room for mine and Julie’s bikes.

I've got a Trek Rail Gen 5, very happy with it, bear in mind they are very heavy. They do need a fair bit of maintenance though.

If you're not retired look into your employers Cycle to Work scheme if they have one, very tax savvy way to buy a new bike.

Sounds like a proper tool that does thing is we’re in Spain till March or I would be having a trip over to Nottingham what size frame is it

The single most important thing is having a good dealer near you who knows their onions.
Stick to a mainstream brand that uses common bicycle standards & components.
Avoid hub based systems as they’re incredibly dated now and put the weight where you least want it.
The conversion kits are all pretty rubbish imo, never giving the range or reliability they promise.
Don’t be a spreadsheet buyer looking for biggest battery, most powerful motor, longest range etc. It’s how they all work together that matters.
More moving parts means more maintenance. Do you really need a full sus?
The heavier & more powerful the ebike, the more it will wear out drivetrain and need servicing.

Happy to offer more advice if you want. Now is a good time to buy a new ebike!
