London LEZ Zone charges

its actually euro five plus for the ulez although all the blurb on tfls website refers only to euro 6 my van for work is a 66 platerenault with no adblue and is compliant in fact tfl gave me a grant towards the cost of upgrading ,some mercedes vitos on as ealy as a 15 plate are also compliant as i nearly bought one of those

Thanks again, the little Fiat is indeed on a personal plate as is the Motorhome which is a 2019 4.5 tonne Frankia, I also just checked my 2021 Ford Ranger pick up which is not on a personal plate and they are all showing that the £15 per day charge is applicable. We are only planning on going to the Abbey Wood CAMC Site which according to the map is in the LEZ area but the tfl website does not give great clarity in my opinion.
I think you are looking at the CONGESTION CHARGE which is not the ULEZ or the LEZ
London has three zones.
Central London - The Congestion Charge. £15. No reason for you to drive there
Inner London - The ULEZ. I believe all your vehicles are exempt
Outer London - The LEZ. WHich is where Abby Wood is. I believe all your vehicles are exempt

If you PM me your number plates I'll take a look

the infra structure thats been brought in for checking the ulex cc and lez will be the start of the road charging along with the forest of average speed check cameras

You are of course correct, but I was not going to confuse an already complicated situation.
Quite how they expect non-Londoners and people who don't speak English as a first language to navigate the complex arrangement of tolls I have no idea. Someone must be making a mint.

All this talk of LEZ, ULEZ..and congestion charges, traffic jams.. quicker to travel 40miles than travelling 3miles etc really makes me appreciate that I live in the sticks and do not have to go thru that.
Don't get me wrong I am not knocking those that do have to do it whether thru choice or they have no choice. Just saying it aint for me, and I respect you for putting up with it.

The ULEZ/LEZ ANPR Cameras are on every major junction off the North/South circular.

We have a minibus, which as it's run by a charity has got a one year stay of execution certificate.
The charity is based just outside the zone, but the minibus is parked just inside the zone.
It has been 'caught' a number of times by the cameras, each time we have to send them a copy of the exemption certificate (again)

Unfortunately LEZ's will be coming to every City and most larger towns within the next few years.
So I'm afraid we are ALL going to have to get used to the idea.

Ultimately the only solution will be to drive an electric motorhome.

Yes sadly that is a fact.. fortunately for us we try and steer clear of the City's.... Just as well we are happy in a farmers field 😄😄😄

Yes I know, but the LEZ out to the M25 is being tightened up in October to cover all diesel up to Euro6 and Euro 4 petrol,
This was proposed a few years back and already effects me, my Euro 4 diesel is 3900kg and I’m expected to pay £100 a day to drive the 200 yards inside the zone to my home,
I didn't know that. I live just inside the m25 so it will effect me. We store our motorhome outside the m25 and the LEZ zone but sometimes have to bring it home as storage closes early afternoon in the winter. Haven't seen any cameras on the back way, country route we use to our house.

Depends on when you last did a software update on your SatNag !

You would not navigate the roads of the UK using a 100 year old paper road map anymore than you would navigate using a SatNag that had not been updated for 100 weeks !

As an FYI

The Blackwall tunnel route is inside the ULEZ Zone.
If you want to cross the river in the east for free then the only option is the Woolwich Ferry which is in the LEZ zone.

However both Blackwall and Woolwich are prone to traffic problems, I regularly use Blackwall, and outside the rush-hours a 20 min delay is normal, one hour plus delay is also pretty regular.

In the past I have gone from Canary Wharf to Greenwich (a strait line distance of under one mile)
via the Dartford crossing, as the 40 mile road distance is faster than using the 3 road mile distance via Blackwall
The Sat Nav maps are < 3 months old so hopefully Garmin's latest. Last jaunt set up trip from UK with Avoid Tolls to get through France. The route calculated by Garmin was through the Blackwall tunnel. I knew to go via Dartford xing so just ignored it but others may not realise.

Likewise I am forced to use country lanes not really suitable for my A class so make a point of going very early and back late,
Transport for London was asked for the location of these emissions cameras under the freedom of information act, there reply was they were not obliged to give it,
At the moment their are three sets of cameras near me and obviously more to follow as the revenue flows in, one on the A20 crittals corner, another on the A21 at Green street green and one on the
A232 Glebe way west wickham,
When buying my motorhome I checked it conformed to the emission regulations for my area but with transport for London moving the goalposts I am left with paying storage outside the zone or give them a £100 a day to visit my home,

Karn is a pri.k
Blame the mayor that came up with the policy, it was Khans predecessor, the bloke was called Johnson, Boris Johnson.

Also as you well know LEZ zone will be forced, by central government, onto all cities in the next few years, so you cant blame the mayors of Manchester, Birmingham, etc. etc. for the LEZ zone they will be introducing.

(Although I'll admit the Manchester motorhome exclusion rule does not pass the logic test)

I don’t blame either Mayor, indeed I am grateful that they have done something to reduce the pollution that my grandchildren have to breathe. There may be some faults and inconsistencies in the way the policies are applied but the principle of doing something about polluting vehicles is in my opinion a good one.

He carried it on and it started with him in so yes he’s to blame
And the other city’s follow because he let it start

No he isn't as you know very well.
I know full well the man a bloody Joke
"He has failed on housing numbers, failed on crime, failed on the environment, just failed to be a leader.
Earlier this month, Sadiq Khan was labelled a "coward" as he refused to speak to Bounds Green residents despite their multiple efforts to talk to the London Mayor.

Sadiq Khan was seen frantically walking away from the group as they pleaded with him to stop and address their concerns.

A man could be heard shouting "Sadiq please talk to us" as the London Mayor ignored the group.

One resident said: "You are our Mayor, we want to be listened to Sadiq.

"At the beginning of lockdown the biggest crisis and this nation since the second world war.

"He was missing, he was an absent Mayor even by his own admission.

"That is ridiculous, there to be a setup at City Hall where you can perform all the time."

SADIQ KHAN has demonstrated a "theme of blaming everything on the Government" during his five years as the Mayor of London according to the Conservative Party's candidate to replace him.

If you break that down into the areas that he is in charge of, such as policing, housing, transport, environment, then the failure just piles up and up.

"Everybody in London, even people that have been voting Labour their whole lives cannot support him,He talks about the Government making cuts but the first thing he did as Mayor was to take £38 million out of the police staffing budget.

"He then went on to threaten to take out an extra £110 million, policing is not on his mind.

"He told the public it would take 10 years to solve knife crime, he is not taking responsibility for making London safe."

What has he done
As Mayor, he implemented the Hopper fare for unlimited bus and tram journeys for an hour, increased the cost and the area covered by the London congestion charge, and introduced new charges (the ULEZ and the T-Charge) for older and more polluting vehicles driving in the city.

If it was up to me he can just fu.. off not hopper off 😉

But watch out for the LEZ signs

Actually it was Ken Livingston that proposed changing the Congestion zone fee to be based on vehicle excise duty bands which were linked to emissions in 2006, in May 2007 Mayor Livingston confirmed he would proceed with a London low emissions zone, so Boris inherited it as he came into the job in 2008, Boris also postponed the third phase for as long as he could but had to meet EU pollution targets. So if we're going to point fingers let's get the facts right and point them at the right people.

I'm to abbey wood Tuesday.

Putting my reg into the TfL site I do not expect to be charged for a 5.5t euro6 MH

I get this feeling, I may be wrong, that you are not that keen on Mr Khan

At least however is better than the idiot the Conservatives put up to oppose him, you know the one, the guy that was fired when pictures emerged of him attending at party at Number 10 that he said did not happen.

It was also the same bloke that stood on a platform of abolishing the ULEZ and LEZ zones. Even the most ardent nationalist Conservative supporter knew that was a lie right from the start as not even his boss would permit that idea to even be considered.

Still it got him airtime, and just further proved to the populace that most politicians are unable to tell the difference between an outright lie and the truth.

I get this feeling, I may be wrong that you are not keen on Boris Johnson or the Tory party?

With regard to Shaun Bailey, the Tory candidate for London Mayor, the policies he proposed with regard to ULEZ/LEZ and congestion zone were a reverse to the increase in the Congestion zone charge, and stopping the expansion of the ULEZ to the North/South circulars not the abolishment of the zones altogether, but hey, don't let the facts get in the way of an opportunity to bash the Tory party.

Is there a London forum because most of us don't care who the mayor of some regional city is. Are you concerned about the policies of the Mayor of Lincoln or Durham 🤪

Neither of the mayors or Lincoln or Durham are in charge of 40% of the money generated in tax of the country.
Nor are they likely to become the next Prime Minister.
