LNB toolbars deposit

isnt there a compulsory cooling of period for services ordered online/?
Strangely enough, I was just looking into that. It is a minimum 14 days. As it happens, yesterday was 14 days from when I paid the deposit.

Yes but its a little more awks than buying goods but it does qualify. 14 days
BUT he will still be arguing that teh deposit was classed an non refundable.

but you informed them before that so it counts

Interesting. Paint problems aside - what do you think of the VanStar?
A great bit of kit (apart from the finish on ours which I'm prepared to accept is a result of a poorly prepared batch) .
I get asked more questions about the Vanstar than anything else on the van.
You need to specify one with a pivot on the RHS as this makes access to the right rear door possible without opening the rack all the way. Bikes are very easy to load and unload and so we use them more.
I can't deny its quite expensive - but to us worth it, especially as I didn't want to mount a rack on the door. And note that it's heavy so it will impact your payload, and all that weight is behind the rear axle. Despite it's weight however its very easy to swing open and closed. It can be completely removed when not required - but this is a 2 man job, just leaves the chassis mountings in place.

Thats interesting. I thought the LH pivot would be better.

Re weight/payload - we are replating our AS Symbol from 3300kg to 3500kg. I have just added air assist suspension which means the rear axle payload will be higher. I think that should take care of the weight issue

The powder coat on ours started to bubble and peel off after about 9 months of light use.
Par for the course with anything powder coated used outside of vehicles, slightest stone chip & moisture gets under the paint and it flakes off.

Our van has a large store cupboard behind the RHS door, this makes access to that cupboard easy. Not relevant if you don't need access to the right hand door the most - I was forgetting that. Also, we mostly use it abroad, so ours opens to the kerb side over there. If you are predominantly UK based then the other way might be safer I suppose.
Apologies for the confusion - I was applying our criteria when I made that comment!!

I had LNB fit an A Frame to our CityGo 2 years ago

I found them very helpful and courteous. After 6 weeks we had a fault, I rang them and arranged to bring it down to them 2 days later. They found a break in the prewired wiring loom and replaced it whilst I waited.

About 2 months ago the vacuum unit stopped working. They sent me a detailed list of things todo to try to get it working. Followed all the steps but still no joy. Rather than driving down from Margate to Bristol, we agreed that I would remove the unit and send it to down for them for to look at it. 3 days later they said the unit was now working and sent it back immediately. I refitted it and all was good. There was no charg.

So overall, I foumd them to be very helpful and responsive.

As to the deposit issue, if their T&C’s make it clear it is non- refundable, am not sure why they are considered in the wrong.

However, I think £200 is pretty steep, but of course, everybody has a choice whether to accept and agree to pay it.
