LMC PHANTOM 2005 2.7 merc or 2008 LIBERTY TI 7205 2.1 merc

Please help I’m losing my hair! Unsure weather to buy the first that has Auto50,000miles &has a tow bar, £3000 cheaper and has had a floor repair work done and a small bump on rear quarter…. or the other that’s newer but smaller engine 6speed manual & I’d have to buy a towbar?

Help appreciated about if any pitfalls before I spend £30thou

Thanks for that……has done 64000 miles but I’m to believe these mercs a good engine

If I was spending £30k on a motorhome, the first item on my list would be a Euro 6 engine.
Which means built from about 2014 onwards.
(Or at least a Euro5 - built from 2011 onwards)

The problem with pre-2011 diesels is the places they can go will progressively get smaller and smaller.
They are already effectively priced out of the centre of several major UK cities, and that number will get a lot higher over the next decade, which means the resale value of pre-2011 diesels will fall considerably.

But reliability is far better on pre Euro 6
Im not sure pre Euro 6 are priced out of Uk cities.
I drive a euro 5 van in and out of London often, and a Euro 3 car

Ok know what you saying but we have a Honda ADV 350 for those spots in town or an Uber taxi!

Both are very low mileage that would put me off, usually means they have been sitting around most of the time so mechanics would need very careful checking over & a budget of a few £k for repairs.
If the one with the floor repair was due to damp I'd give that one a miss.
