LIFE AFTER HELGA !!!!

Good morning,,,

well i was up about 3.30 this morning, slept really well and I wasn’t at all tired! This blow up bed is so comfy!!

I’ve just had a bath, wich was equally as lovely ,, but I have decided to get a plumber in,,, I would like to get the water hotter, only a bit, but hotter, which means bypassing this valve thingy, but my major drama is,, I have a turn to close plug system on the bath, and the plug goes up and down with the twist,, the problem is, theplug bit doesn’t come up very much, and I’ve just timed the bath emptying process,, 16 mins for a full bath load of water to drain! 16 mins,, rediculous!!

so I’m going to see if a plumber can remove the plug bit, so I can replace with a proper plug!

I’m going to this breakfast meeting tomorrow and there’s a plumber involved with that, so I shall ask him!!

leaving here about 7.15 today to get to the sign place, he’s doing the signs early, handy I said! Then I shall go back to the range for a few smelly candles, I’m getting used to having a nice aroma floating about,, and I can get a couple of refills for the hall, now I know it’s working! Anyway that’s the update,, chat later when I will put some pics of the van on, finished!!

That’s the bath plug set up,, useless!! Xx

Our bath has a plug like that. We turn the upper part to raise the plug, then lift the plug out completely. Bath empties fairly quickly. Replace plug.
As said by Lozsing, the shank below the plug has a brass screw and locknut to adjust the amount of 'lift' when you turn the upper part.

Ian, we have the same on our bath however we take the middle bit of the plug out when emptying the bath - it just pulls out. Will yours not do the same?

Mate, when you get out of the bath, just lift the plug out, simples. I took mine up cos we allus shower (y) (y)(y)

The plug has an adjusting screw. Lift it out and it will be obvious what you need to do to make it rise higher to allow the water out quicker.

Good evening,, here is the news,,,

I’ve just met the bloke who’s going to move in above me,, den, lovely bloke, single father every other weekend!

he’s moving in in about a week,,, and we had a lovely chat, really nice hard working bloke! And you’ll never guess what he does for a living,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, He’s a self employed builders labourer, with experience of small works, extensions etc,,, and he is being messed about by a builder,, but he has got work for the next five weeks!

Could that be any better for me!
I expect to be doing my own work in 4/5 weeks and a bloke who’s ready for work living upstairs! Lol. What luck, maybe for both of us!!!

Now, I had my amazon package delivered today, and I’ve just spent the last 20 mins sorting it out! See pic!! I liked em in Helga, so I got some for here, and I think it looks ok! What do you reckon ?? View attachment 358166View attachment 358167View attachment 358168Of course I have a plethora of colours available! Lol xx

As I suggested earlier you shouldn't need to bypass the mixer valve - just remove the knob / cover, turn shaft, replace cover.

Hope the breakfast went well!
Is there a funny handshake involved and Masonic Hall meeting place!!?
?

I just stuck my nose in to see how Ian was getting on at his meeting... (y)

Looks to be enjoying himself... :hugs:

See posts above on how to adjust your plug.

They're all the same you twist to let the water out and they are adjusted by setting the screw mechanism under the plug. I'm surprised you haven't come across them before. :giggle:

It's too late now Ian but what a shame that you no longer have Helga.
When I was back in the UK and first got my moho, I palled up with a couple of guys, separately, on Plenty of Fish, we each had our own vehicles and our own dogs. We were all Scottish based but retained our independence.
I did various shorter trips with one or both of them, including the NC500 and the three of us actually left for Spain together.
There were no strings attached and no obligations, in fact one of them had just started dating when we left UK, he split from us quite early to meet his girlfriend in Barcelona for Xmas.
The second guy and I headed further south and spent Xmas just South of Valencia with another couple in a Moho.
We all went our separate ways after that, but have remained firm friends. I was the first of us to settle in Spain, the guy who went to Barcelona is now very happily settled with a lovely lady back in Aberdeenshire, the couple have now also settled out here and the third member of our original gang is back on the west coast of Scotland and still on PoF!
Life is an adventure with a Moho, one never knows what awaits around the next corner.
You're a dark horse eh val ? I'd have never guessed you were so liberal minded ?

Hope you are going to drive like an Angel now you are signwritten. Nothing worse than company vans driving like nobs, admittedly I guess they are usually just employee's but they'd be out on their ear if they were driving like dicks in a van that represented me!
