Nice one Ian. 100% you done the right thing. You need a good decent looking reliable van to get work. First impressions count. Some sort of magnetic signs or sign written and an alarm and your well on your way to getting work. Good luck.

Well your all gonna be pissed off now !

I had a look round,,, went to about15 garages, all too much money, but the vans were a lot newer than my budget allowed,,, on my way back I googled a local area and up popped a van centre, notfive mins from my new hideout!!
Went in, had a look round,, saw a van I liked and I bought it! The geezer even gave me £250 for the skip I’m driving!! Bonus!

I pick up the new to me van on wed at 9 am, three months full warranty,, full service and a full years mot ! Cost £3750,, Before my old trade in,, no vat !! 99,000 miles and an ex fleet vehicle,, really tidy inside and out, 6 gears, diesel, two rear side doors, and I’m happy with what I bought,,, Iwont look like a beggar going round a customers house now!

I’ve just met my new neighbours, who are putting stuff into the house next door!!

woman is called Nonanca, black lady, call me nonny she said, she’s a lovely friendly woman,, Now her partner introduced himself as Joanne!! Yes,, you read it right,, he is Joanne!! Again, very friendly, nice people,, but my first experience of trans life!

I can see I’m gonna meet a wide variety of people here! I already called him/ her jo, by mistake,, so I’m just going to have to be very mindful. !!

I can see me getting arrested! Lolololol. Xx

I asked about a direct debit and what they said really pissed me off!!

The full price of the license is paid in the first 6 months the direct debit is paid,, so the last six months you pay is building up credit for next year! There might not be a licence next year,, why would I want to get in credit with them , Shocking!!

Manny years ago a lesbian couple moved in next door, one very thin lady and the other a larger than life lady. Now I was sitting having me tea one night when a knock on the door. I stopped buying new furniture several years ago , a mattress yes but bed frame no , everything else I would buy second hand and changed things often as tastes changed , I found lots of bargains and didn't lose any money when changing them

You can often pick up really good quality stuff for not a lot of money , I always found gumtree to be fantastic and facebook marketplace is also great

well it’s gonna be a task today!
I need a van, so I’m going to have a drive around a few dealers! I hate buying vans/ cars,, don’t know anything about them, but just go on looks,,, I got lucky with Helga, and she was the last vehicle I consciously went out to buy,,, I’m torn between a little box van, Peugeot or similar , and a pickup, I will have to see what’s about! And I don’t want to increase my overhead by too much,, I might have to get a bit of finance but it will only be for a couple of grand,, hopefully!!

I think the money from helga is burning a hole in your pocket ian as my mum always says.

Personally if the van you have now still drives ok etc I'd just hang on to it till you are making some decent money.

I certainly wouldn't be buying a van from a dealer.

I think everyone should just stop paying the tv license , even the great dictator boris says it needs rethought that everyone paying a license for 1 bloody channel.

I've not bought one in about 8 years
