New van with new toilet cassette so I wanted to try not using the usual chemical toilet fluids. I've seen on here that some folk use Lidl Formil Bio. My question is which one of the three possibilities below (bio, bio concentrated or sachets) do folk, use and how much? Also any other option Many thanks in advance.

We have not used anything in our cassette since I fitted a Thetford toilet ventilation extractor fan kit (Thetford's version of a SOG)

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
The pods tend not to dissolve too well, unless added to warm water. I preferred the washing powder tabs myself, but they are becoming quite rare these days, so I used the bio liquid.

We do have a SOG unit, but adding the bio liquid helps to brake down the solids, ...............and also helps the task of emptying the cassette more bearable for me, as no other bu@@er empties the bleddy thing. :(

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Middle picture, Bio liquid.

Slop in an unmeasured pour. I tend to leave the casette contents to digest and empty as I depart the storage site, usually every two weeks. If the loo has had a lot of heavy, solids use I add an extra capful of Formil when I put back in storage and leave it to work.

Formil smell good .

Another advantage of Formil is it works well when some 'emergency' hand washing of clothing is required.

We have both in the van and usually use a pod in the loo and the liquid in a small pressure sprayer. Plus for washing clothes etc when on a long trip.either Lidl or Aldi bio.

as in biological? so you just drop it into the toilet bowl to land in the cassette?
Our flush water is separate to our main water, we also put a bit of zoflora in the flush water each time we fill it. Never have any problems with smell.

Non Bio is friendlier to nature, especially if you use CL/CS a lot.

How does his fluid work ? Is it just like any other green fluid ? I use the cheapo Aldi green stuff and it seems to work OK. I never use the blue stuff.

I don’t think this works out any more expensive than cheap washing liquid , 40 doses, in a cassette you could easily use half a dose and get 80 cassette empties for about £12 👍

No idea how it works but virtually odourless when dumping

With me it's not the cost, it's the convenience and size of Lidl's Formil. A camping shop, which I visit rarely, and size which requires storage in the garage. Lidl is next to Starbucks so I can purchase a small bottle whenever I need.

And if in France looking to buy biological ....look out for the word "enzymes" on the package .and also low temp washing instructions can indicate biological more.

Although it isnt as easy to find as they do tend to use non bio a lot more

SPAIN ?....enzimas funnily enough. :ROFLMAO:

I use bio powder for washing anyway, Aldi, so just pour a bit in, tabs and pods would be uneconomical as I tend to empty the cassette most days.

We have a septic tank at home, which we are careful not to send chemicals into. As we empty the cassette at home we use Sainsbury's plant based bio laundry liquid. It's also much kinder to the septic tanks found on many rural CS/CL CAMPRA sites. It's works very well for us!
