Hi Funsters, going to look at a >8m LHD Burstner shortly, what is you opinion re using them in the UK and the continent, should LHD mean a lower purchase price compared to RHD.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

think what it will be like if you drive down a UK country land and have a bus or dumper truck coming the other way?
No different in either? You still need to pass it🤔😊

But I'm sure most would. There can't be much behind the front seats that is affected by which side the driver sits.
If it's a bar version it would be difficult as the steering wheel gets in the way of seat rotation unless there is lots of room in the cab area, even with a removable wheel you don't have as much seat movement.

There are alway poor designs where the seats won't easily/fully rotate.
Mine is a bar version and both front seat rotate the full 180 degrees. So much so that I have had to disable the second detent.

There are also restrictions with some layouts, The layout we have wouldnt work in a RHD

I do not know jongood's layout but I am interested to know exactly why he says that. Our RHD Arto works fine.

Had I known that I was moving to Poland 2 years after I bought the MH I would have chosen LHD, if I could have found an Arto in UK. It would have saved a lot of hassle over re-registering in Poland but that is now water under the bridge.

We have a similar layout but on an MAN truck chassis, so effectively forward control, this means the dashboard is much closer to the windscreen giving us a lot more usable space but much more difficult to turn the driving seat.

If you have the bar on the passenger side you can get the chair a lot further back from the table compared to pushing it back against the steering wheel, OK our steering wheel is detachable but there is still more space on the other side without the steering column. is your a bar or table Geoff?

Martin

We have an 'L'-shaped sofa with a table running the length of the long part. The front seats swivel unobstructed and if the swiveled seats are used for eating it needs a slide-in extension to the table for them to reach. That way we can easily seat 6, maybe 8 - if really friendly.

The other advantage is that the table is opposite the kitchen so convenient for both cooking prep and for serving after cooking.

I can show you at Morelo.
