If all goes according to plan we should be collecting our first motorhome in the next week.
Mobilvetta Euroyacht 180x.
As it is LHD are there things we need to do or extra things we need to have to use it on UK roads?
Thanks!
Elaine

When buying for UK check that it either has dual rear fog lights or one in the centre. Some continentals have one on the left which is no good for our MOT

Passed the MOT last week so hopefully this should be okay. Will check when we pick it up.

I run a LHD Pinninfarina Spider and the speedo only shows kmh. It has passed at least 5 MOTs in my possession (including earlier this year) and at three different garages (Swansea and Ammanford).

being a convertible it has no vision problems at junctions! How do you fancy a convertible motorhome?

Just be carefull if driving without a co pilot. If on your own then push the passenger seat fully forwards and open all right side blinds/flyscreens.
I had to take more drastic action as I had no window and a huge blind spot.

I love our van and left hand drive suits us completely

I assume that the headlamps have been converted for use in the UK. Is it legal to drive around FOR EVER on non converted lamps with beam benders?

As far as I know YES as long as the light beam is legal.

Our lights are the hella ones that you can turn to make them LHD or RHD so not even driving around on benders.

Hi
Not a Van, A pal of mine had an imported quad bike he had to take it to VOSA for inspection re road use, he had to modify the speedo to both MPH & KPH. Pete

My understanding is that when you first register a LHD in the UK they should that the speedo has been changed to MPH but if they do not and it stays in KPH you will be OK at MOT time.
