Hi everyone
Having a tank out in. Is a gauge necessary I had heard that they are not that reliable??

Most underslung tanks are sold by total capacity, not usable. A 25 litre tank can only hold 20 litres at 80%.
Our underslung tank was an 80ltr tank, which took 65ltrs to full, on the very once in 15 x years we got caught out, and woke up to an empty tank.............in the middle of winter. My fault, as I had misread the gauge on the tank. :(

Although we don't have a contents gauge, we do have a reserve cylinder icon, displayed on the CBE panel, which tells us when the Truma Duo system switches over to cylinder B, so we then know that we need to fill that empty 11Kg cylinder ASAP, or certainly within a couple of days if in winter use.
That will do for me. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. :)

We have a gas it underslung tank with remote shut off and gauge its not the most reliable but when it shows red i can get 21 litres in its a 25lire tank, so near enough.
How do you hook it onto the tank? Can't get mine to stick. Someone on here used a aluminium sling thing, but I don't have those sort of skills. In fact, I can't get under the van enough. Low van. big tum!

Is that a new version, mine doesn't come up like that?

The app was updated for the horizontal tank a year or so ago.

My Mopeka sensor holds on with the magnet, but I thought it would not still be there after a pothole or a speed bump, so the aluminium cover is to hold it in place and give it a bit of weather protection.
It requires no real skills to make the aluminum cover to hold the Mopeka sensor in place, just a bench vice and a pair of thumbs to bend the thin ally over.
I do have the advantage of E&P levelling jacks to get our van high enough to get under it comfortably.
