Levelling motorhome without air suspension

Thanks Lenny.
I had edited to add medical reasons for questions so people who replied understood why ‘if it feels level it’s ok’ won’t work.
But, on reflection I felt uncomfortable with putting it out there when I haven’t yet come to terms with diagnosis.
So mad, maybe, if it offends you I apologise.
Hi Lenny. I cant tell if the van is level or not either by feel and on the other hand I can feel level when standing on a perfectly level area and am unable to walk down slopes/narrow areas.

This is due to a medical condition which has also knackered my balance in my inner ear and leaves me to rely on my sight and balance assistance in my knees (who knew there was 3 areas that control balance and one would be in your knees:D).

If it’s the same for you it’s a real pain along with the other symptom and my only suggestion is a spirt level and acceptance you will have limitations.

I have a bubble level app on my phone - just lay the phone down on a flat surface and it tells you how level you are - or aren't.

It's amazing how high tech costing hundreds of pounds can be a substitute for a simple low tech spirit level costing next to nothing. In fact, I still use a free sprit level that came with one of the MH magazines some years ago. Free! Woo hoo! :D

...but if you've already got that high tech, that you use for other purposes such as a phone, a satnav, a entertainment player, a camera - and the app is free... why buy anything let alone a spirit level?

Same here, we have one of those round levels we got free from somewhere although I rarely need to use it as I can tell how level we are without it but it does come in handy when hubby is adamant we aren't so we consult the level and he enjoys a meal of humble pie! :D2

A free app, eh. What permissions did it need in exchange.... :mask:

I'll take a free bit of low tech any day. No batteries included. :gum:

Why waste time on messing about opening an app when you can easily just glance at a suitably placed spirit level ...

Messing about ???
Much quicker to open an app [two clicks] than rummage around in a drawer where I thought I'd left a little bit of plastic, no not there, must be in that cupboard... or are you suggesting I should have it permanently stuck to the worktop, or screwed to the table ?
And why add to the payload/clutter...
:imoutahere:

Why not just admit you're a skinflint and too mean to buy a 'real' one!

It must just be android Bubble Apps that are Free, as the I Phone App is not Free, 2nd attempt
we typed in the search engine, all free spirit bubble apps, guess what nothing was available.....surprise, Surprise eh?:(
Glad that its only the "current" phone that is Apple, everything else is android or windows.

Amazon product ASIN B003LX6DCM
Never runs out and works on all platforms;);):D2
We have one of those, and its cheap & effective(y)
Now if only we could find it, I have been meaning to screw it down somewhere for ages now.:D
Must say it always raises a smile when I see folk getting the levelers out, up & down they go, OH outside taking all the flack from the driver, always stood in the wrong place, driver shouting out the window...EH? What? What rung am I on?
Then there's the almost visual, let alone audible resignation.....ah F##K it, that'll do, get the kettle on!
Best part....they are now probably more unlevel than when they started:LOL::LOL:
Gotta love this camping lark eh?
And as for the E&P brigade, dont you dare come on this thread, we know, we know, cant you see how much entertainment/Stress you are missing? Some say it keeps the relationship alive:whistle:

Small spirit level next to the kitchen sink on worktop and a set of Milenco triple ramps for us.

Says she of the bargain hunt .
Aren't campers meant to be in favour of dual or multi purpose items
Ah but I got my bubble level free many moons ago ... and it is multi-purpose ... it makes me feel smug when I've levelled the van without it and hubby feels sick from eating the humble pie when he checks it!

It’s already on the iPhone/iPad.

On mine it’s in “Utilties”
Then “Measure”
Press “Level”

Then just lay your phone down.

... and watch it slide off as you try to level the van!

You learn something new everyday had a iPhone for years and never knew it had a built in level I must have lost my marbles at an
early age technology is way ahead of me and so are my grandchildren what hope is there for me:(:(

Bunch of weirdos on this site. I really hope the marble guy was joking but it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't.

Park up, jump out, stand a bit back from the side of motorhome and have a look to see if you are level that way, walk round to front or rear and see if you are level that way.

If not, decide where to put ramps, place them accordingly and then check again.

Try to put a bit of tilt towards shower plug hole to help in draining.

Use a spirit level if this method is not accurate enough.

I can supply decent spirit level bubbles to anyone who is interested. Mates rates.
