It is not exactly this way it's happened. Let me explain: I was to be renewed in my agrements to carry on being childminder, on the 10th of May. But, I had quite a few health problems lately. It all began on the 6th of july. I was attacked by a dog. After he caught my right arm he put me down on the ground and started to bite my tummy on its right side . To make it short , I had a black out when my mind thought I was going to die stupidly if he was to get my throat; my mind came back to life when I got to my office door, how ... I have no idea . My leggings and underwear tattered. A real trauma. I was taken to the emergencies, funnily smiling and chatting with the nurses while they were checking my constants , and came back home in the evening. Had a few days off.
Right arm out of order.... when you keep carrying babies it is difficult. Everything is, actually. Shower, getting dressed, do the washing up etc....
Later in the year I had 2 alerts : 1 for a possible stroke.... And 2sd for a possible heart attack on its way. But came back OK !
Back home , I was starting everyday to feel more and more tired. A bad use of a knife got my left hand with 3 stitches. Recently David , the person from the Latecoere bureau (supervisor, but I call him Boss... as his name starts with these 3 letters) took me to the SOS doctors.... I had a dead finger among the living ones. Flat , white and cold! Brilliant! Another schock , I thought I would loose my finger; The doctor managed to get it back to life after 7 days treatment. Too long to explain how it happened . But I got it back as it was before .....Phewww... . So ..... I thought, my body is telling me ENOUGH! I then decide not to be renewed with my agrements, and asked to the Latecoere Bureau to fire me via a convention, which they agree on, but we haven't found the terms yet. I'm supposed to have 6 months notice because of the house, but.... the school year starts in september, and if they want a family to be in my house, I have to move earlier. Honestly my first feeling was I can't do it, I'm too tired and I only have one arm working as the left one is too sore to be able to do anything. But I spent the night (hence the bad night sleep) from saturday to sunday thinking ... Max of course but also that move..... What can I do? This was the main reason I typed that post yesterday. To see if I could find help. Today a few archers told me: We'll help you if you need us. I'm still not sure I can do it and a lot of decisions still remain hanging on Max's repairs. If it can be repaired it first means you are all my heroes, but also I might find the strenght to move in Max quicker than planned and please Mister Boss and that family waiting for the job, the house and their children to settle down..... I cross my fingers I can do it all!

Never met you or needed your help Frankie, but through your kindness by going above and beyond for funsters having problems in France, I feel that we should repay the favour, I hope your van gets back on the road very soon and all the problems you have at present will be a distant memory!

I'll be on unemployed allowances , as my retirement can't be taken now. Only on the first January following my 67 birthday!

Well here , they want to change how long we are going to have these allowances it might go from 18 months down to 12 , and apply it in september.... this might give me a good kick as well to move earlier!

Years ago we broke down in the middle of France and were ‘rescued’ at the time by a young French family who couldn’t have done more to help us. A long story with a couple of strange coincidences attached. So just happy to help ‘pay it forward’ as they say.
And going forward, hope all gets sorted with van, health and retirement!
 
Sorry to read of your troubles Frankie, it’s definitely time for your luck to change, hope Max is soon repaired and most importantly that with less stress you can get your health back and enjoy your travels and retirement. Look after yourself

Morning Frankie, try not to worry about things, in the U.K. we have removal companies who will pack and move everything for us , into temporary storage if needed

Hopefully that can be done in France and the fund now has enough to cover this for you as well

I have no idea of the way it works. Jim Is it directly paid to the garage/welder/ MOT controler? Does it work through a bank like bank transfert? Does it go through income tax, I mean do I have to include it in my incomes? I'm not familiar with this at all. Can you give me a few clues please. Here the VAT for the garages is 20% . So sometimes when the price is high we can see if according to the given quote, a part of the sum can be given ..... Hummm... let's say , someother way :censored:

Hi Frankie, I will add your details to the go fund me payout page and they will pay you directly. I’m not sure what or if any charges they will make. The money is yours to do as you please. We don’t need to see receipts or invoices.

You should take professional advice re the tax situation, hopefully you will have enough money to get Max fixed pay any taxes and fill him with a few tanks of diesel.

But since you are known to be 21 a long time to wait until 67 .....

Take heart young lady, fix Max and come travel the UK you"ll have lots of offers to park up, us included.
