Do you know what the bird with the hammer head feather effect is in a couple of your photos? I saw one up close today. Beautiful bird and never seen one before. Hope to visit a few of the inland places in Spain you went to on this trip.

It's a Hoopoe, very common in southern Portugal, saw one in France a few weeks ago.
Our neighbour had one in the garden here in Lancing a couple of years ago.
