Hi.
" We " You are halfway there already, someone to check whats coming at you when wanting to manouver.
What to watch for..... When the passenger gets out..they would/could be getting out into a Live lane.*
Pitching up on a site where the doors have to be on one side...Drive or reverse in.
Best of luck in your travels.
Tea Bag ( Right hooker in a Left hooker world ? .... Not a problem )

Ours is a lefty and Manic loves it, wouldn’t go back to RHD.
If you have a competent passenger they can give info on awkward junctions.

My competent passenger forgets the agreed parlance and starts using Go and No as the commands.. it illicits poor language from the driver! 🤣

To be honest if you cannot drive LHD/RHD on either side of the road maybe you should not be driving.

Continental drivers in UK and UK drivers on the Continent do it every day.

No special test needed.

We have had 1 LHD Hymer, sold to a Funster and an LHD Westfalia Columbus 6.4 meter PVC now for sale through Simon Select. The van is very well converted and I found that when in the UK you could see the edge of the road and thus many potholes!

A test drive would help you to a practical view and I am sure Simon or Rob would be happy to arrange that. That would also help on the issue of Comfortmatic in case that is a worry - very overblown in my view. Mind you I am probably biased, as the Westfalia is LHD and Comfortmatic.

PM me if you have any questions about the van, LHD or Comfortmatic! David

Nice sales pitch 😁 but from the prices he quoted earlier I think you're well above his price range 😉

As a lefty van, I, as passenger use ‘clear’ or ‘nothing this way’-depends on the junction or ‘CAR’ as in shouted, don’t care what the vehicle is, and very often repeat the info, just to make sure!
Mother always said no or go and father would get really cross!

LHD drive does have some disadvantage in the UK as we all know, however when in Europe, where you are a little unsure of driving habits etc then having LHD stacks something in your favour.

If only staying in the UK go RHD, if usage will be mixed than LHD is good, this is from my personal experience.

We have a LHD Hymer in France and I imported our RHD Amarok into France 6 years ago. The only downside I have found with the RHD Amarok is overtaking HGV's or large tractors. I have to use my wife's judgement if it is safe to cross the white line a little just to see the oncoming traffic before I can make the move to overtake. Apart from a few that are in a hurry most drivers where we live are content to follow behind you, as the national speed limit is 80kph in most provinces.

I like LHD at home, maybe it's just because I have got used to it over the last 12+ years but I feel it allows me to get closer to the left side of the road without hitting anything (fingers crossed) only issue would be some junctions where visibility from the right could be impeded but road positioning can usually overcome that, then it's just overtaking if you plan to do much of that (I don't).
Same as Martin, never had a RHD Motorhome in 30 years (y)

We are on our first RHD having had 5 LHD, 2 of those in UK. No problems at all really.

It used to be more of an issue abroad when I was a tugger as the driving position is much lower in a car. Now I can, at least, see over a lot of stuff.
