I have finished the 3 parts for my Jackfield tile bag. I will make it up nearer to Christmas as it’s easier to store in pieces. I’m quite pleased with it apart from the yellow (it really jars with me) but i would not have had enough if I did not use it.

I find small things far too fiddly to make so hats off to movan for the doll clothes and accessories. I just would not do them, too much finishing :)

Wild Swan is now 4 rows further on, I found that I had missed a stitch in the chart ......... the centre section was not repeated in reverse after 5 knit stitches but there was a sneaky stitch in the centre so 11 knit stitches across the centre and not 10. Note to self (again) to double / triple check the chart even though it is in 4 parts over two pages.

I actually love using small hooks but at the moment I struggle smaller than .9mm It definitely takes practice and makes my hands ache more than larger stuff though.

Hi all, newbie to Moho’ing ... but experienced hooker! Happy to have found this ‘thread’ #sorry ?? no more puns, I promise! Crocheting is just one of my MANY hobbies (addictions! ?). Desperately trying not to turn the Moho into another place to hoard yarn! Link to some of my “stuff” on >>> Pinterest <<<.

Still learning despite experience but also happy to help if ever needed.
There is NOTHING wrong with using a Motorhome for mobile yarn storage. Mine is currently full of crisps, because of endless stupid problems with power (hence limited cooking for children) but there be a lot more yarn if it I got that series out.

The shawl is beautiful, I wish I had the concentration for lace!

I think I have less than 20 rows to do on the Wild Swan now and the pattern has become easier as it is really only the last feathers and border to knit. I am looking forward to releasing the safety rows and having a look at it.

With so many stitched on the needle it's taking quite a while to get a row done :)

My posh yarn came on Saturday and Martin was not happy as he didn't understand why I needed more yarn.

I am looking forward to seeing your finished project :)

Men never understand why we need more, do they! ;) Dave looks so confused with the number of WIP I have and how often I end up frogging a project as I don’t like it. It’s all part of the fun :)

Puddleduck You must have worked really hard to get so far. I looked at the pattern yesterday and also found myself looking at gorgeous patterns for wedding shawls. They are works of art and I'd love to have a go. However. a lot of my time is taken up with preparing for the Big C classes. We only have a two-hour slot so everyone appreciates having the packs ready-made. A simple one today - a spectacle case in rich fabric. Everybody managed to finish in time.

I did bring home some books from the charity shop today - one I picked up on Brioche knitting "Brioche Chic" by Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark.

It does sound as if you found the Wild Swan pattern interesting. Can't wait to see it.

I had to look up that stitch !!!! Every day a school day.

the book looks fabulous but at near enough £20 on Amazon i will give it a miss for now.

Did anyone see the lady on Countryfile yesterday who crochets life sized animals? I think she calls it something like "crochetdermy" as its a cross between crochet and taxidermy! They are absolutely fabulous and she is a genius. Must see on BBC iplayer.

No but I will have a look. That is keen, I just don’t have the attention span for something that big.

Yes well ........ £1.50 from the Charity shop ...... bargain and in perfect condition. Their craft books are lovely and because I'm in the shop every week I get first pickings. I daren't start looking at their cookery books!!!

Ven Puddleduck You've really wetted my appetite to make a shawl so I dug out another of my books last night "Heirloom Knitting" by Sharon Miller. All about Shetland lace patterns. I might just make up a few samples (small samples!!!) to see how I get on reading from charts.

I probably need a break from crochet octopals after making up a teddy and two monkeys from their latest patterns - fingers are creaking.

Me too - I think it is part of growing old disgracefully ?

On a Facebook group that I belong to, we are making Luna Lapins from a book from The Works. When I bought the book, my Mother said that her Mother had made something similar when she was a girl in the 1930’s.

Here is my effort - it looks like a newborn Bambi ? I think it will look better when I have made some of the clothes for it. It’s all hand-stitched except for the ears.

Janine Chrysalis is a fan of that book too. :)

Janine I'm sure Alice Chrysalis will be along soon to show you her pictures - she has made at least one French rabbit. I was tempted by the book but then chose the My Crochet Doll book instead. Now I see loads of crochet dolls on Pinterest.

Incidently how do you get the free patterns from Pinterest. I tried e-mailing them to myself but that didn't work.

Alice are you able to do any crafting yet after your hip op? Hoping the recovery is going well today! Sending hugs and PPP

I finished my hat to go with the skinny scarf, excuse the dodgy picture ;)

Does anyone else stay up so late because they just can’t stop crafting? Some nights I just can’t stop and end up hobbling to bed because I’m so stiff. It’s definitely an addiction. Just one more row ....

How did you get on? I’ve printed the patterns off but I’m still finishing off the baby blanket and have 40 odd octos that I made while we were away to stuff and put bums on.

Only 12 rows and the picot row to do on Wild Swan now :) the last rows are a lot less complex as they make a lower edge / border.
Can’t wait to see the finished product!
