I am busy crocheting a baby sleeping bag :)

I made a knitted cocoon for my daughter-in-law's sister's new baby last year. My Grandson said it was a sock to put the baby in - he knows I usually make socks when travelling. I loved that description of it!!!! Anyway the baby was tiny, less than 5lb at full term and the cocoon was much appreciated as there was a hood attached and no string round the neck. Made in baby DK acrylic and very quick and easy to make.

Going to try to finish the socks this afternoon. Fed up of blurry tv and my kindle is out of books (and charge)

I just finished this big boy for the yarn bombing group's fish week project.
It's not until June but I won't be here so have to get my contributions in early.

Helen what pattern are you using....I’ve been looking for a pattern for one to make for the new arrival due in May
I got it from donnajonesdesigns.co.uk but I can email a copy to you if you pm me your email address; I kept a copy on my computer at work.

It's a very simple pattern and making up quite quickly which is good for me as working full time I don't get a lot of time.

Ha ha how do you do the Rastafarian legs please? :)
Decrease to 8 or 16 sts. Using the outside loops, chain to a couple of centimeters longer than you want the legs to be on either every stitch or every other stitch depending if you have 8 or 16.
Then 2dc in the top loop of each chain on the way back up. You will need to twirl the legs around with your fingers to get them to twist properly.
Then I use the inside loops of the bottom to decrease until the hole is closed.
I used chunky wool and a 6mm hook.
I'm thinking of adding a mouth..... what do you think?

@Puddleduck Adding my good wishes too. As an aside did you get the units for your sewing room/workroom or is that still a plan on the drawing board?

We didn't get the units as following a lot of thought and reflection we realised that there is a built in wardrobe that can take a lot of the units I already have and that either a modification of IKEA units or built to fit units on the other walls will be much better. The table that comes with the commercial unit is too small for quilting - both on the left and the rear of the machine and I would have needed to modify it to create a well to sit the machine into - all a bit too much when spending so much on the unit anyway.

I have my feet up (no lifting and minimum strain for me at the moment) whilst Martin is decorating what was our daughter's room ready to convert it into the guest room. All her junk is being taken across to her new house on Sunday!!!!!

So once the guest room is done the room where my new studio is to be will be a blank canvas. It is north facing and has a reasonable size window. I am thinking of painting the walls a dove grey - or maybe slightly darker (Spanish or Dim Grey) as the units will be white. Any other suggestions?

Teaching 6yr old to knit! She picked it up really quickly.
There's a video too but it's too big to upload .
Sadly neither her mum or dad can knit so once I've gone home she'll have nobody to help. So I've Pointed them at YouTube View attachment 288406
Well done Anthea ....are you in Bristol?

Not really been following this thread as I can't knit or crochet but whilst attending a yoga class today the instructor produced the most beautiful blanket she had made from individual shapes all crochet together made me think maybe it could be quite a nice pass time so I will be following with interest .... :D

Have a try it’s addictive.......I find looking at you tube is good as you can stop the video and rewind and check as you go along.
I particularly like the Bella coco tutorials .

Joy I hate following patterns but enjoy making things up as I go along...I thought I’d made up a new stitch that I liked but it turns out it’s a half treble

And mine too Helen one of the bathrooms in my previous house I painted pale grey with white paintwork and everyone commented on how lovely it looked(y)
We had a bit of a grey phase a couple of years ago.
The main bathroom in our house is pale grey tiles floor and walls, white ceiling, bath, loo and basin, chrome shower etc with red towels and bath mats.
Our bedroom walls are pale grey, carpet is dark grey, cream furniture and teal cushions and some teal ornaments to highlight.
