Le Havre to South of France suggested route and stop overs

Can anyone help with some suggestions? We have two weeks in September and want to explore Nice to Marseille. We are looking for ideas on which route to drive down, how long should we allow for this and places to stop along the route overnight. A different route back would also be good, so all suggestions gratefully received.
