Last Tango in Halifax

Maybe it's me, but I couldn't hear some of Sarah's lines - she mumbled quite a few of them and hardly opened her mouth when she spoke. The other characters in the scene were quite audible. Still, a great production, well worth watching.

I quite agree she mumbles and I fed up of seeing that bloody ghost she's talking to, too many if not every cast member has issues, switched off after 10 minutes last night. I'm done with it.

By the way it's my stomping ground and this coming and going between Halifax and Harrogate as though they are just popping 15 minutes down the road is ridiculous !! That particular journey is a nightmare.

I feel better now.

The first two seris were great, but its probibly going on too far now, no family is that disfunctional is it?

they should have quit on a high

Of course they are,,,watch Emmerdale, Corro or Eastenders,,,,all real. BUSBY.:)

I have two questions regarding Last Tango in Halifax:

1) Why is it always misty in the farmhouse?
2) Who the heck peels potatoes with a knife?

Keith Hart

Anything Sally Wainwright writes is brilliant and she gets wonderful actors and actresses to act in her things. Wonderful series.

What's getting me irritated is the dead mother of the baby frequently appearing close to Sarah Lancashire as if she's some sort of ghostly apparition spouting wise words of encouragement.

Where will it end?

Ecky thump lad, before tha' knows it we'll 'ave Florrie Lindley on't shoulder of Ken Barlow in Corrie sayin' as Deirdre's safe wi' 'er in t'heaven!

In the storyline it's Halifax and Ripponden, 6 or 7 miles via Sowerby Bridge, should be able to do it in half an hour.

Why is it always misty in the farmhouse?
'Cos it's Calderdale. :)

It's Harrogate that Celia and the Widow Lives they have featured Betty's in the past.
Oh OK, thought it was Hx, always happy to be put right, thanks @Littlewheels .
Haven't been in Betty's since the 70's! (we moved down here from Hebden in the 80's.) I bet it hasn't changed has it?

Never seen it, sounds a bit too 'Northern' for me. Is it all whippets, pigeons, cat flaps, flat caps and flat beer?
Oy, less of the flat beer, the one thing us northerns don't suffer gladly is flat beer. Mrs Barsteward even carries a sparkler round with her just incase we go further south than Llandid...llandeedaa......North Wales:D

A number of the local pub scenes are filmed in Lancashire (ooooh wash my mouth out:whistle:) a pub called The Crown in Bacup of all places:coffee:

The "station" scene was Bolton Civic Centre, also known as Le Mans Crescent.
Bolton is twinned with Le Mans.
Cheers, Dave(y)
