Looking to replace my old Samsung Laser Printer, 14 years old...

Any recommendations?

We have a Brother which has done very good service so far and the toner and drum are cheap enough to replace.

Ours is an old model and obsolete but the newer models look good.

Previously always used to use HP Laserjets and always found them very reliable.

You can pick up refurbished ones with warranty from various places.

When working (been retired 10 years) I always had mono laser printers as they always worked even if not used for some time. Tried to get a modern one a few years ago with AirPrint but gave up the hunt. My sister in law gave me her inkjet multifunction machine but due to only occasionally needed, then I would find the jets dried up. Recently went on the hunt again and bought a HP LaserJet M234dw multifunction on eBay direct from HP £130. Very pleased with it. Small footprint and easy to use. Well recommended.

I'd vote for HP laserjets as well. Most IT firms I have worked at have used HP printers of varying sizes and features.

At home I have an HP 1320 black and white printer with a duplexer built in which is - the current page count is 46,988 (I was secretary for a charity before I moved to llandudno so printed a lot of documents for them).

For colour prints I have a Dell 1660w which at 11 years old is newer than the HP. That has produced just under 10,000 pages so far.

Both machines have been using non OEM toner and so far (touch wood!) have had no problems.

I second the Brother or HP options. Check the pricing and size of the toner cartridges though, it can make a huge difference.

Dell 1320CW, ancient, obsolete, and still going strong on 3rd party toner
