We have done 3 trips to Greece using ferries from Ancona-Patras, which have been fine.
We are considering the land routes, particularly now our Polish insurance gives comprehensive cover for all the Balkans (Why cannot UK insurers do that?)
A further reason has now arisen, in that ANEK/Superfast ferries are no longer offering Camping on Deck which we find the best way.
From what I have read most people choose a route through Croatia and Albania or through Romania and Bulgaria.
This year I heard from a German living in S. Germany that he uses a route through Hungary-Serbia-N. Macedonia into Greece.
I would be interested in comments on all 3 routes, particularly the last, which I had never heard mentioned before.
