Kwh

It’s about time all campsites used metered or low amperage electricity. I’m always amazed at the amount of people who leave their awning lights on all night, use electric heaters and kettles when they can use gas, and have strings of fairy lights around their awnings. Those of us who use gas for everything are subsidising others for their wastefulness.
I know the C&MC are thinking about changing the way they provide electricity and maybe others will think about it too.
Then perhaps site prices will come down a bit.

I know the original question wasn't about batteries but as we have gone off at a tangent wouldn't it be easier if we concentrated more on WH
*WH = AVAILABLE WATT X HOUR AT 20H RATE FROM A BATTERY, WITHOUT EXCEEDING ITS RECOMMENDED DEPTH OF DISCHARGE.

Then you would see that for example a Exide 100Ah lead acid battery has 650 available Wh where a 85Ah Gel battery has 950 Wh and a 100Ah lithium battery would have over 1000 Wh.

Looking at the figures reinforces the argument that not all batteries are equal.

Now that's really confused the OP.:D2

I agree that EHU should be a chargeable option. We Brits seem to have become rather p:xrofl:igate in the use of it (maybe to save the weight of gas bottles?).
It is an option on some sites and we always take the EHU-free option. £2 pays for an awful amount of gas and sometimes the premium for electric is as much as £4. I think folk would quickly change their habit if they started to pay extra for EHU, even at domestic rates.

EDIT: profligate = wasteful
