Setting off end of Sept for a trip down the Mosel,
Had a look on SFS app for places to stay and to be honest I wasn't that impressed with a few of the reviews of sites on the river.
Any recommends??

Cheers

Can anyone recommend any Stellplatz with good public transport links into Koblenz? The Knaus one looks great but it'll work out at 60 euros a night for us, which is a bit steep, unless anyone can convince me it's worth it!

<M>
It’s worth it 😉

This is looking more like it, my eyes watered when I saw the price of Knaus! Do you know if you can buy train tickets at the station or do they have to be bought in advance? Thanks :)
Buy
tickets at the station, just watch coming back we got a train to Neuwied that didn't stop at Urmitz but luckily we jumped off at Nuewied and on the other platform was the train back. Take cash as well as the parking app charges you € 2.50.

We did exactly the same thing in Rotterdam earlier this year, train just went whizzing by our stop 😆

Was talking to a fellow MH guy last week and told him I was off to Germany end of Sept to visit the wine festivals, his reply was that I should check if there were still any on?.
Apparently it's not so much Germany but Italy and maybe some area's of Spain its been too hot weather and crops have suffered. Can anyone confirm that's all is good with the German festivals, I read nothing negative on any of the Germany web info.

I left the Mosel yesterday and am currently at the large stellplatz in Saarburg.
The roads have been a nightmare in the last 10 days.Lots of roadworks near bridges with no indication of an alternative route to get to your destination. My satnav was repeatedly saying “turn around where possible”. I started off at Minheim and the barrier was locked and a Full notice on it.There were at least 8 other vans waiting and hoping to get in.I then went to Reil where I had been before. It was very full but I managed to squeeze in a space. There were 80 to 100 vans on site. The new shower block is a bonus. The Imbiss has changed hands and they told me it was their 1st season at Reil.I then went further north to Zell which was excellent with individual spaces on 3 terraces.Excellent Imbiss on site.
Weather has been glorious all the time. Where I am now I had to hang around for 2 days before a pitch was available. It should be a little less busy at the end of the month.
Enjoy your trip but best to have a plan B in mind.

They should have them dotted over the UK same as the food and cigarette machines on the streets In Switzerland 🤔🤔
The UK used to have chocolate machines and cigarette machines in the 70s but like most things in the UK it gets destroyed and ruined.

I remember milk machines where a dextrous young lad could put their arm up and get a free pint😉, also paraffin machines.

We're in Kinheim on the Mosel at present and have also stayed in Urzig and Wintrich on this trip. You can hardly go wrong! If you are not keen on a town or village then just move on!
We lich Wintrich because it's a small village and has a nice restaurant in the middle. Urzig had several places to eat and Kinheim is an easy place to park up. By the way, make sure you try the local wine. I buy the Riesling Trocken from Marks in Wintrich and from Schneider-Faber in Kinheim.

There was a nice campsite in Metz , we couldn't find so I asked a Policeman and we followed his Police car to site !

Kesten, front row to watch the barges, river cruisers and a little yellow sea plane which took off infront of the campsite. Think it was 12 euro with EHU. Bread van every morning and ice cream van in the afternoon. Wine sold on the site.
